look fala, we just got one way to solve all these riddles with true information and not second hand sources.

One of us learns c

i don't think so its needed, also c knowledge is not enough, thought we might try to ask panda directly if she is still alive

Here you go. That's the only thing that is done with the value btw.

that part of the code is only e+ mod hardcoded limit, not the nudge code itself, however u have discovered in this code TN value affect ping value, not the ping itself

for TN code u need to dig in baseq3 ;}

exacly that kind of attitude brought me to make this topic, that ppl willing to believe in random throwed numbers than in a solid calculations without even trying to understand game mechanism, note please that i am not trying to convince anyone to my settings or my opinion, i have made a specyfic analysis of the matters to prove that the settings limits are wrong

I may just reccomend you keep your opinion short and simple, I strongly doubt there were someone else continuing reading your and skull converstaion.

That's not a problem needed to be explained in details. If you want to gain an attention from referees side, then explain it on their level of understanding. Even if you r using solid arguments and proffs you reach no interest by giving this on the long and boring posts. This thread may contain much info, but it almost useless as anti cheat tutorial guide made by Skull.

nothing more expected than this answer, just the kind of behavior who doesn't let this mod/game get any better. n1.

It's taken from the official 1.32 source provided by id software and has nothing to do with E+.

then why on normal q3 there is no limit of nudge and e+ limits is to + - 30?

if that's from source of 1.32 build, then it would mean if u set TN to 100 it still would work as 30 as u clerly can see this code makes exactly that, in other words we lived so far clueless and many ppl on osp, vanila, cpm used values greater than 30 thinking it changes something but it didn't...

It is, get yourself the sources and see line 967 in file "\code\client\cl_cgame.c".

Re: cl_timenudge paranoia

thank u boozo

but ill blame u that u didn't wanted to tell skull this

this is from source code of 1.32b:

Quote:

CL_AdjustTimeDelta

Adjust the clients view of server time.

We attempt to have cl.serverTime exactly equal the server's view of time plus the timeNudge, but with variable latencies over the internet it will often need to drift a bit to match conditions.

Our ideal time would be to have the adjusted time approach, but not pass, the very latest snapshot.

Adjustments are only made when a new snapshot arrives with a rational latency, which keeps the adjustment process framerate independent and prevents massive overadjustment during times of significant packet lossor bursted delayed packets.

Who said that I didn't? It's just that I wasn't following the discussion all the time and when I looked over the posts I decided to finally post the code! Smug

Uh..i use to play q3 1.16 in the US...they used to "cry" over time nudge back then as well...so they are right....time nudge came from before e+ was even born......but ppl never change i guess...

Ping ain't nothing but a number...
