Troll-e, i'm not sure about that. I mean, I don't posses enough informations about CCC role(haven't read nor googled anything yet), but I'm positive it improves more things than it spoils. So considering that before 2 weeks ago, I was playing Q3 without problems and with CCC installed, it probably means that it is the newest version that is a bit buggy or so. So I guess installing one version older than the last one should do the job. Ofc, turning of updates of the CCC(if there's any) would be good for the PC, CPU and the nerves of the owner

hm i think i understood ur problem, i had same shit long time ago, just install CCC and all the shit, it's ok to have the drivers, just in ati control panel, turn off the...catalyst AI or something similar, i forgot exactly the name but should be this, or turn it on if it's off, for me worked years ago, dunno wtf but worked. this option its in the 3d settings inside the ati control panel. im pretty sure it's what is fucking u up with ur cpu. lemme know ))

try run quake3 other version quak3.exe 1.32 or 1.32c

maybe some specific settings or features are disabled/enabled by default in the latest version, you could experiment with that but my guess is that there was no significant improvement compared to the previous releases (check changelog) and you should stick with the one you've been using prior to formatting your pc
(or simply go without CCC)

killa have crazy lagometer after install new os (cw off-intel), he had quake3.exe 1.32c, now he has 1.32 version and his problem is solved

And Druqks, i guess i'll just try installing the previous version of CCC, not the latest updates and see how it goes with that. Well, at least now I have the correct diagnose of the problem, so 90% of the problem is solved
