CRT or TFT for e+?
yeah, there is a 19" in my school I would like to have but as it goes, I hate the sysadmin of our school :\ (hes most hated teacher there).
Thats why I had to pick up a good crt out of some trash before it got trashed.
I have found 4 crt monitors that (i think) should have 120hz at 1024x768.
1. Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 220 22˝
2. Iiyama Vision Master Pro 450 19˝
3. HP Compaq P110 21˝
4. Samsung 1100DF 21˝
I would like to know if these can run 120hz refresh rate at that or higher resolution, and if they can witch one would be the best to get? Thx for your answers.
cheers
I've owned a few iiyama CRTs (vision master pro 451, 510, 513) and yeah it's definitely the best you can get for gaming, especially for e+
now I got a 120hz LCD monitor (samsung 2233rz), it feels different but it's still great
it's not as fluid as a 1024@120hz CRT at high speeds, but the display remains MUCH sharper due to the higher resolution (1680*1050), and colors/contrast are really nice.
I'd say it feels like a 100hz CRT at a pretty high resolution
if you want to know about a monitor's refresh rates, just google the model and add for example "640x480@120hz", you should find what you're looking for (or just try and find the .pdf user manual)
I have 3 working crt's sitting in my attic, only 17" I know one is a dell, cant remember the other brands, but if anyone wants them, arrange a courier/come get them and they are yours foc.
i have a samsung SyncMaster P2470HD 24" 1920x1080 (60 hz), it's TV/monitor.....i think it fuckin sux, what u guys tell me bout this monitor? could i have better and "noticeable" gameplay with soemthing faster (lcd) ? and even more on a crt ? ofc in quake i use 1920x1080 on 110-120 fov, just when i move even slow the mouse there is 0% focus...i hit on luck...
have any friend with a crt diablo? if yes, plug it in and test q3 on r_mode 4, r_displayrefresh 120 and check yourself.
before buy this new pc i was playin on a pentium 4 1700 mhz and ge-force 5200 so i had a crt 17", i was playing at 1600x1200 but if i remember right it was around 60/70/75 hz, never had 120hz crt, or at least one supporting that frequency on that res, anyway, i forgot how it was lol, but i got a suspection that i started to suck just when i taken this lcd from my dad, i remember when he had this when i was watchin him playing call of duty, in fast situation i had the sensation that it was slow...but i don't wanna use a crt coz of size/quality/space/HD support etc...how would it be with a much better quality lcd monitor? could it be close or same as a crt? coz this one i have is just a monitor for tv, not so good for pc, it's just one of those cheapy shit sold in commercial centers...
but i don't wanna use a crt coz of size/quality/space/HD support
u could still have second monitor for hd. u might not have much space on desk but i personaly prefer the quality over any lcd shits ;>
Lol, I use 1920x1080@120Hz on a flat planel. I wouldnt buy a high-depth crt for gaming with the series of 120Hz TN actually coming out. This way of thinking is obsolete.
ye i agree with u, i prefeer to spend money for a very good model 120hz instead of play on those giant fridges, even though they were really precise/smooth after all, how many damn years we have still to wait for have same or more depth/quality/smoothness than crt's? it's 2011 goddamn, even coz i hate tn panels, i wanna yes fast reaction n stuff but even a good quality of colors, better depth of pixels, a fuckin decend angle of vision, maybe there even are some but, at 18235823 euro, im not talkin bout eizo but close or similar at least, it's like ssd hard disk, need pass centuries before u can just go buy one without even look at it and just thinkin the gb size....before buy one u need google for a year all the models and the most secret features before understand wtf to buy and wtf is it about...the world is so slow that my balls falls down to my socks goddamn...
