oh, yeah that's plusN.cfg (plus/plusc)
rail-based cfg's, multi jumps, cpm physics

there's other servers with the excessive side cfg, but not many are popular
mostly borg team ctf (1.03 server) (Borg Team CTF) is the only server where players from the e5 side go, although it does have rail

1.04 is outdated (it wasn't actually a full release but just beta stage)
we moved straight into 2.0a, which the e5 cfg is much better suited

Yeah, I tried joining Borg last night. I need to get the right files installed because I got a host / client mismatch. I'll have to check out the Borg website and see if they have the files I need.

Though my ping is terribad there, prob. end up around 150 when I join. AT&T is a sorry excuse for B/W and my only other option is dealing with capped internet with Comcrap (250gb). Kinda wonder if I'd use that up or not playing quake all week for a month.

Honestly, with sooo much flexibility being built into the new Excessive MOD it seems to have caused what community was left to seriously split ways. You have too many different server .cfg's catering to a watered down remnant of Q3 players as it is (in the US).

When Pant's was popular it was THE excessive MOD and the overall game play was consistent. We had a large community back then with your choice of CTF or TDM. None of these fancy variations trying to appeal 40 different ways (exaggeration I know, but it is a lot now). You still had the 1.16 players that hung back, but they were running the same game physics for the most part. Now it's version this, version that, plus, plusA-Z etc. You get my drift. How can one expect to establish a strong community with so many options?

Thanks for extending the offer Spider. Once I've had a chance to delve more into the different versions of this MOD I'll have a better idea of where I'd like to take my interests.

1.32 Pants CTF is where my true interest originated. I really need to see what 1.03 / 1.04 E5 is all about before I decide what to push though. The Plus versions are definitely not my thing (rail, freeze etc).

yeah, there's a lot of servers with different configs
it's quite confusing for new guys to the community
but just scroll down the page once clicking on a server link in the spider
and look for xp_config
it'll say plusa-z , excessive5 e5 e5r borg5r (could go on forever really)

but from what i know, there's no servers from usa with the excessive side configs (in this mod anyway)

Thanks Monkey, that's the best clarification yet. I think i have the pak0 & pak3 files already from auto download. I just wasn't isolating them properly from some zr1xxxx.pk3 (can't remember it's name). This was probably confusing the client.

Also, to DIVX, I'll let you know if I continue to have problems. I always have my own FTP handy which I could setup an account on if needed.
