make sure u did not unpack the .pk3

the maps must be ending with pk3 not as bsp or whatever.

u can load the maps ingame with opening the console ^=tilde and type "/map name-of-map"

Also there is a limit to the number of pk3 files q3 can have at one time, altough it is unlikely you hit that limit Happy

Like mow said, they have to be .pk3 files, so make sure its not a .zip.

If you for some reason extracted the .pk3 file, you won't be able to use the map unless pure is off (ie the plain .bsp)

this is still not working. here is the steps i have done so maybe someone can point where i made the mistake.

i downloaded the file q3hockey-final and unzipped it to my desktop. I placed all the folders and files into my baseq3 folder. I start the game and launch capture the flag and it's not showing up in the maps.

Thanks for the help guys, i'm sure we can figure this out soon Big grin

you did this.

what you downloaded was not a zip file, it was a pk3, but your download manager renamed it.

rename the file you downloaded from name.zip to name.pk3

then copy that name.pk3 to your baseq3 folder.

if you do not see file extensions (ie it shows up only as "name") go to "tools/folder options" on your explorer and remove the checkmark on "hide file extensions for known filetypes"

Ok so i renamed the q3hockey-final.zip folder to q3hockey-final.pk3 and placed this in the baseq3 folder. I started the game and I still don't see it showing up in the selection.
