The version of your quake will show in the lower right corner of the console.

huh.

Well, i just checked, it doesn't show up for me either when i run plain Quake 3 or E+. It does show up in CPMA, heh.

Well, it happens. As long as the game allows you to switch to it via console, you don't really need to pick the map from there, you know.

hmm strange
Try loading the map directly .. like ingame write /map q3xxxx and see that if you can run the map.
If you can, there should be a problem with your version of q3 or incomplete update or wrong version or additional .pk3 files can cause that kind of error.

just go to console and type; "/map q3hockey-final"
