win 10 is more like win 8 than 7. they just removed metro wall and stupid gestures and huge icons and added start menu so yes, if you need to change something in system settings, you can click on start, choose control panel and do it how youre used to. In win8 you had to move mouse cursor to upper right corner of screen, then move down to see terrible huge panel with terrible huge icons then click you want to enter advanced settings or what and then you were in control panel.

I used win10 for 2 weeks. I heard microsoft is watching every your click. Then i tried to install win vista. It was nice but something didnt work so i had to install back my win7.

When win10 beta end? Propably in feb 2015 but for accurate info try to google it, iam not sure
