i updated all to xp_date Jan 11 2010 first default settings and pure clients paks in e+ folder on root for 1.03 clients to following servers:

In a nutshell, it's simply a free and legal Q3 remake for Windows/Linux/Mac with a much better engine.
id made the Q3 engine (not the models, textures, etc.) code freely available to all back in 2005. Shortly after, ioQuake3 (ioq3) was developed and others like OpenArena and Xreal have piggy-backed on this work.
Beast made a version of E+ 2.0a specifically for OpenArena (OA). It's listed along with the Q3 version. There is also a texture pk3 (not by Beast) that allows just about any Q3 map to render correctly in OA.

Below is a list of improvements to the Q3 1.32c engine by ioQuake:

* Multiuser support on Windows systems (user-specific game data is stored in their respective Application Data folders)

* Numerous security fixes
The OpenArena developers take the ioq3 engine and then add their improvements to it.
OA does not support PB and never will. However, they do have more security for servers and clients from various bugfixes than the Q3 1.32c engine.

The player in spectator in a mod e+ can overcome a barrier clips, and in quake 3 arena - cannot. In e+ the player being in spec sees that that did not intend for players. After all on a card specially делатся about restriction clips that players did not see that that is not necessary. Otherwise it can be used for helps to other players.
Whether there is a command limiting the player in spectator in area clips?

from killers post i get, that openarena uses ioquake3 engine ? Is he doesn't mistaking ? Does inst openarena engine different from io ?
Cause using only ioquake3 engine + q3files, + e+2aopenarena - is bad idea as i understanding now.
Another server update. Changes:
- chg: FreezeTag->TeamkillFreeze config option now boolean, and it accounts for freezen the target being teamkilled only. In consequence, the TEAMKILL_FREEZE_* constants have been removed.
- add: Misc->TeamSelfDamage config option, as an improvement for TEAMKILL_FREEZE_ATTACKER.
- add: /motd <id|all> [ <file> ], as a server command to show motd text to clients.
- add: xp_activeClients to hold number of human clients currently connected.
- add: xp_rotateStep to control how many maps to rotate on automatic rotations at the end of a map.
- add: if-else constructs to rotation system
- fix: negative thaw damage.
