Agree with tar aswell, except be careful with "karma systems"...

ESReality.com has an awesome system where you can "plus" a good post and depending on how much "status" you yourself have (up to 100%, starting at the plussed post and user will get a small amount of %.

However, they did try to add a "minus" option aswell for a while.

...please, do not ever consider adding that. Just trust me. Nothing good comes out of it, but a lot of bad. If some one behaves badly he simply won't be plussed and if he behaves really badly you ban him, tada.

Imo just remove post counting on following:

E+ Events Clan Ranking
1vs1 Ranking
E5 Ranking

All Clan forums

All Team forums

Rest is stocked with moderators, so no need there.

Also it would be good that some topics are cleaned up every now and then.

Such topics ATM:

What is blasting from your speakers (any such topic on any forum i was ever on was deleted (all but first post) regularly every 2 weeks)

Any "Biggest quote ever" and "Official Spam" topic (of course not touching the ones in clan forums).

About karma: make it only positive, but also make sure an explanation has to be given, and limit it to once per week per person.
Such a system (but also with negative (id recomend against it here)) works well on, for example www.gamerenders.com, a huge community with over 70.000 members, so you can see how to manage such things.

Custom titles, perhaps. But it might get a bit out of hand.

People should just stop senseless posting on every topic they see to give their opinion which mostly isn't needed by anyone and isn't relied to the original content of the thread.
I guess you all know there are enough people like that here and i always hate to read their unimportant bullshittalk, blowing up every second thread...normal, content-focussed member should take side and either not react on such posts or blame the certain members for spamming, seriously blaming.

why don't you remove avatars, sigs, postcount, custom title/ forum rank all togheter, so no more: Look ! that guy has that-thing ! Hang him ! look ! that guy has more of those-things ! off with him !

I come from one of the biggest forum in ro, and i'll tell you some rules from which you can get banned for at least 2 weeks :

a) You're not allowed with colored text in sig
You're not allowed with pictures in sig, only text
c) Your text signature has to be less than 4 rows ( 1st row
2nd row
3rd row
4th row )
d) You're not allowed with links in your sig

That's regarding sigs
Now, regarding posting:
You're banned for at least 3 weeks if you:
a) Post monosilabil words ( like lol etc )
Already posted a reply to the topic and you later have something to say, you're not allowed to post again. You have to edit your prev post.
c) Post 2 replies of some topics in one ( 1 ) day.

Anyway, there are more rules from which you can get banned for at least 2 weeks, but these are the most important.

the fact is that im the 3rd in postcount is not just because i post many craps, but im active on it very much ...
But there are others like Crow who comes genrally only monday or in begining of the month, because he knows most of the games are played in weekend and he only say gg . Imo his the spamer not me, even if i have more posts but like ive said im more active than him and im longer here than him . Just look on clan ranking and tell me how much gg's i have beside deva games ..

And ive said im off this forum but when i did that sorry topic, inter came and hijacked my topic posting crap .. and i was really pissed off and even my topic was locked and didnt see any reason ( there are other topics which are more pointless than mine and arent locked) + no reason there .
So check the forum and tell me how much gg +1 orly yrly nrly i have . Pls if u have time . And those topics I blame kraster werent made by me and didnt even know when those were made .

And even if u dont believe me i dont do that for postcount, i just reply where i think and im not coming in middle of flamewars or etc to post crap.

Anyway u replied me the last sentence on msn also and i didnt come here to cry, is just i didnt understand why i was the single example and im not even first on memberlist .
