Hmm, I don't know If I understood something wrong, but I made all maps and these maps are ready to play, additionally each map in this pack is in separate, so it's not so hard to figure out that pack which size is around 540 mb is bigger than your. Is that true? You give us maps which aren't ready, which need to compile first to play on them then. So maybe that's why your pack size is around 300 mb. But you know, I can be wrong. Anyway thanks for these files, ofc big thanks to you for it.. Winking

BTW I didn't know that some sites allow that file compression.. Dual-core processors don't have that power >.> interesting.. ofc i hope it's joke :DDD

All maps that I have converted are ready to play. Moreover I made them playable in different modes (see detailed description here above). All that one has to do is to install (extract) files in one's quake3 folder (all archived files will install into the right subfolders) and download necessary maps into baseq3 folder. That's all! There is no need to "compile" anything.

I think everyone here can extract files from archives and download them. For those who have wrong drivers for their hands and can't do it, I made self-extracting archives.

And the total size of my files is lower (the main reason) because I removed all duplicated files (sounds, textures models etc) that you didn't do. You prefer place such files into the archive with each map (*.pk3). I accumulated all these files in a separated folder (some duplicates were replaced while copying) and filtered other duplicates which could be in baseq3 folder. I think that there is no need to comment why I did it.

So, it is not caused by file compression in any site nor processors. The main thing is the target and method of your work. I made accent on the total size (I wanted to minimize it) and thus on quality of my work (I wanted to make a "ready-to-play" product). Well... You can compare the final results.

Ok I get it. But first if some player will want play on your maps he must download this ql_for_q3a_common.exe so it's 130mb and yhm, it can be annoying to download this for that player, right? Maps which I made allow free downloads without any additives. So if some player wants play on for example purgatory.pk3 map, then that player will download this map and that's all, play.. That player can download whatever map he wants without downloading any pack with textures, sounds etc.. The same Admins. They must download this 130mb pack and load on server to play on these maps. For me its useless..

What's more all maps which I made are on Excessive Plus FTP and ready to download.

Bla-bla-bla...

And there is an archive which weights 540 Mb, but not separated 105 maps.

Some calculations:
540 / 105 = 5.142 Mb - average size of one your archive with one map
131 Mb (137 867 877 bytes - size of ql_for_q3a_common.exe) / 5.142 = 25.476 maps - number of your separated archives with maps (but not the whole set of 540 Mb) that one could reasonably download, - if one wants to get more maps, one should download my set.
Moreover, if there is a new map to add to one's set of maps, there are 2 variants:
1. yours - an archive with a maps and all necessary files for this map and one can find some duplicates in such an archive.
2. mine - the 1st archive with a map and the 2nd which would contain only some new files which absent in ql_for_q3a_common.exe (f.e. - 0ql-120719.pk3 - my Quake Live code and date of releasing) or even only the 1st archive with a maps if there is no need to add any new textures and other additional files (f.e. - superspace.pk3, because map "SUPERSPACE" contains only the textures and other files which were used earlier for other maps - "common files").

Ok, ok your pack is better and you are better and maps which I made are crap and shit... lulz oO
Man, are you ok? oO I can't believe, I made something and you are trying to eat me for this. Dude, take it easy >.> I will tell you again the same to you that is not a pack? ok? First, download them and look at this what I made, then you can say "Bla-bla-bla". I will not talk with you about this here, because it's useless and some kind of spam, so chill out. I placed the link with download for interested in this what I made so, if you aren't, then ok, I will not cry. I made it for fun ofc and I have free time. Thanks for all again, peace and cheers

Hm... Ok. My rhetoric is caused by my point of view that everything should be systematized and polished (of course, like I do Winking). And I tried to define the reasons for your and my variants. Heh... And I'm going to download your pack to see what you have made. Maybe there are some interesting solutions of some problems that I met while converting the maps.

EDIT: I was so disappointed when on downloading your pack I found inside your archive the maps converted and adapted by ME! I hoped to find there something new (see here above) Sad
