does releasing mean changing map illumination drastically?
Sander did some changes on the map, but dunno what has changed.
I have compiled it with standard final compile. I haven't used bounce 8 option.

Hi, iam back for a while. The link Ali posted above is the latest version of mario map compiled by him. I just fixed the sloppy texturing thing, Mad mentioned before and thats the difference. Ali added teamed spawns and flags. No lighting was changed as i know except i compiled with -bounce 8.
Looking at the bright before/darker after lights screenshots the only problem causing this coming to my mind is incopatible sky shader or different ambient key in worldspawn. Anyway should look deeper

indeed, there is no ambient light value on the .map I have.
Dunno if u had it before then removed it accidently or on purpose.

oops I talked about _minlight anyway its almost same as ambient.
I downloaded ur map and looked closer and think problem is in sky shader, since other places where is no sky stayed at same lighting level.
