Raged like a pole.
Anyway, i find it both amusing and a bit sad that people get so annoyed with Tem around here. Why? Because he uses sarcasm? Because he tells the truth? Because he's not afraid to speak his mind in a place where people talk shit about each other behind their backs constantly? This (dys)topic, Equilibruim-esque cacoon you guys have created, the pretense of niceness that everyone exhales constantly, that's what is sickening, really. Because it's false, because it's play pretend and because under that, you're really no better than the guy you throw your shit at.
But what truly gets me is that you think Tem is bad. I have so much trouble processing that notion. It's like you guys don't visit any other website in the world, just sit here, talk about cookies and xD :] while shooting lasers at robots, and are completely oblivious to how people are in other communities, hell, on the internet in general. And no, i don't mean jaded and nasty, i mean much more in-your-face and with a no-bullshit attitude. Tem is not the problem here, and neither am i, it's you guys that just can't handle even a tiny drop of wit and sarcastic prowess. I can't even properly describe how strange this entire place is, really... i could try but i'd have to use words and phrases like "cult-like", "self-perpetuated delusions" and "beacon of idiocy". Seriously, it's like E+ only attracts a very specific (with some exceptions) sort of people to it, who are like minded in some deranged way, sharing the common trait of getting immensely butthurt at the slightest sign that someone is not complying to the wishes of the hive-mind. And don't even get me started on how you exaggerate every little fucking thing Tem says but choose to ignore when "one of your own" behaves like a douche, i don't think there is the necessary brain power around to grasp the concepts of double standards and hypocrisy left here, anymore.
I'd implore you to go and explore the internet a bit to gain perspective, but seeing Skull's forays into #cpmpickup, i somehow doubt most of you would stay afloat.
I just wanted to get all that out of my system. I don't even think many people care about all that shit anymore, save for a few that keep old grudges alive for no reason other than being spiteful bastards. You guys need to grow some thicker skin, seriously, otherwise, when some real trolls come here, and believe me, they will sooner or later, this place will get decimated.
gl spartanus xD
I'd implore you to go and explore the internet a bit to gain perspective, but seeing Skull's forays into #cpmpickup, i somehow doubt most of you would stay afloat.
well, in cpma 3/4 of people are like shady, thats where i learned to deal with the mental ignore function.
about shadys post, the problem is, you need to read them at least twice, to make sure to get it proper and to differ if he is just trolling/spamming or talking about truth in some sarcastic way, especially when your english is bad its totally annoying.
its nothing about shady personally, but your post is 3 times as readable as his madbringer, just compare it o"
ps: i would bet 10 cent on you having the better english mad.
I can say what my problem was, and that was that he took out his anger on people indiscriminately. Most of the people targetted were undeserving of it, be it that Canadian that got his post moderated by Shady when he was Mod, or Ali being harrassed in every conceivable way*. The second part is that I never understood your E+ stereotypes, most people I know came here from different mods and play different mods and think E+ is a spamfest. It's obvious you both were burned after trying to engage in the community, therefore it just feels bad sport to diss the whole community in the way you do - especially since you are still hanging around. There's also a social contract thing there, you don't diss people for playing internet games when you do the same. it's equally nerdy no matter how much "skill" you ascribe a certain game.
And when you guys actually did get banned, or get your posts deleted you were infuriated and wanted to be unbanned. I never really got that.
*Out of the maybe 4 times I've visited E+IRC channel, during 2 of them people connected en masse to hurl racial slurs at Ali. In that deleted blog Shady thought I was just as bad for dissing Kid in public, but I think there is a qualitative difference. 1. The personal attacks 2. The intensity and longevity of it.
You'd lose that bet, Skull. It might seem like i have better English, but that's only because Tem doesn't bother with tidying his posts up. It's his choice to write this way, but trust me, as a native speaker, his English is leagues above mine.
Plus, i think most of you at least get the gist of what he's writing, otherwise there would be no rage only confusion and head scratching.
Anyway:
I can say what my problem was, and that was that he took out his anger

Yeah there were some bad moments, i can't say i agree with everything Tem ever said and done. That was a pretty long time ago, though. Refer to the "holding grudges" part of my post.
At any rate, i don't think it was ever unfounded. Don't remember about the Canadian guy, but Ali was a real dick, he still is, in fact. You say most were undeserving, but only person that comes to mind that was victimised by Tem, in my opinion, unjustly, was Mow. But he since lived up to the hype, so whatever.
The second part is that I never understood your E+ stereotypes, most

Yeah and you're real close with the community at large, are you? Especially since you quit? Anyway, it's irrelevant and an exception to the rule - unless by "most people" you mean "most of the community" and by "spamfest" you don't mean "wah wah i like config x over config y", otherwise you're referring the what i did refer by exclusion when i wrote "most". I hate generalizations.
It's obvious you both were burned after trying
to engage in the community, therefore it just feels bad sport to diss
the whole community in the way you do - especially since you are still
hanging around.
I dunno about Tem, but... burned? I consciously and by my own wish detached myself from this place. There were good and bad moments, sure, but none so bad as to left me mentally scarred and/or forcefully ejected, except for
And when you guys actually did get banned, or get your posts deleted you

this. Sure i wanted to get unbanned at first, though i don't remember being infuriated, more like ultimately disillusioned as to the direction this place has taken and just who and what the people who run this place are. Tem went back here on multiple occasions to sow chaos, while i quietly drifted off into other parts, coming back occasionally since like two, three months ago i think.
Neways, i wrote multiple times why i stick around, don't feel like repeating the same shit over and over. If you missed it, blame poor old racially discriminated Ali for deleting my posts. ;p
edit: and don't tell me you wouldn't get annoyed if you'd get your posts deleted for little reason other than the mod( attitude towards you. The ban was pulled out from ass as well, Spider bawwed because his pedobear friend got "targeted". Remember what i wrote about thick skin.

Good message, just a few corrections:
1) Canadian guy: if i remember correctly I didnt edit his post, i just wrote a bunch of drunk rage replies. After which i left mod team (or was removed, this was in 07 so i don't remember the details)
2) The Ali thing was veeeeeery far fetched. It's funny that you remember the (the one time suddenly became 4 lol) time me and flex joined #excessiveplus to spam "lol faliminimum" yet not his signature and forum posts basically outlining that "troll team claim to be mortal enemies of e+". There was a time when we just invited a bunch of people to aNk priv forum on this site and see what sort of mis-conceptions happened: http://www.excessiveplus.net/forums/thread/the-inside-jokes-ank-archives
3) "It's obvious you both were burned after trying to engage in the community". We WERE part of the community, yet during the whole Edawn saga, it just became clear that arguing with the bulk of e+ (bar Mircwar who it's always challenging to debate against) just seemed too close-minded to talk with (it's annoying to write a 2 page reply only to see the person you wrote it for completely skim past your arguments. So that was kind of a moment i got "detached" from this place, as well as most of the guys from aNK, who also couldnt be bothered anymore (instead choosing to get medals in clanbase or to run lvl^, etc) while some of us still stay here and exhange esoteric opinions via messages.
And finally, I still I totally don't get where this "shady is completely against e+" vibe. I still play e+, im still in a team here (well, 2) and even though I do think the gameplay is simplistic and dare i say, moronic at times, I am not prejudiced against the entire mod/community, just a variety of "Xd plz" bfg spamming morons that have problems deciphering the actual quake part of "quake 3 excessiweplus" (oh wait, this demographic represents like 70% of the community and some of those people get offended? is not my trouble c: )
p.s. Yes Skull, mad beats me at readability any day of the week, it's hardly a secret

It's interesting how people can take such different views in the same matter, makes for interesting psychology. I think you guys were pretty good at holding grudges, such as referencing the same people in unrelated posts for over a year. In any case, I wrote what my problem "was", in past tense.
Unfounded it might not have been, but at the time im not sure he messed up in some major way. In any case I'm not exactly his no 1 fan. But I take issue with the way he was targetted, if we compare it to me and Kid - I didn't use myself of the fact that he is a 30 year old homosexual german (no offence honestyl, I like kid).

Well, talking about generalizations, don't you feel the community as a whole (as in every person playing) gets belittled and ridiculed in pretty much every post? I think "some" hostility might be found originating from that. We can also talk about thick skin, you guys were awfully sensitive when someone complained about your posts. And it wasn't E+ vs you. It was maybe me and Fala that actually bothered to voice any critique, which is why I find the whole "groupthink" view of E+ as odd and unfounded. I think it's the other way around.
I dunno about Tem, but... burned? I consciously and by my own wish detached myself from this place. There were good and bad moments, sure, but none so bad as to left me mentally scarred and/or forcefully ejected, except for
Well you guys were mods and heavily involved in the community, I guess both you had personal issues with people (Leaukothea? Since I don't really know about it's not my place to comment on) and then turned on the community as a whole, when your problem lied with 2-3 people. Easy, and some in-groups like Ina/Skull?
this. Sure i wanted to get unbanned at first, though i don't remember being infuriated, more like ultimately disillusioned as to the direction this place has taken and just who and what the people who run this place are. i can't think of any community letting posts like that slip (in connection with the whole edawn vs e+ thing), and for such a long timeperiod. That's why I feel it's somehow...humm...uncalled for to critique E+ over fascist mods or narrowmindedness.
Neways, i wrote multiple times why i stick around, don't feel like repeating the same shit over and over. If you missed it, blame poor old racially discriminated Ali for deleting my posts. ;p
I guess it's all water under the bridge, yes?

Oh, absolutely. We still make fun of people we have history with, but honestly, that's all that is. I shunned all malice towards these people a long time ago, and a sarcastic one-liner or a casual middle finger towards the truly retarded (German Killer etc) is hardly an indication of an ongoing vengeful rampage.
Unfounded it might not have been, but at the time im not sure he messed up in some major way. In any case I'm not exactly his no 1 fan. Yeah, like i said, i don't always see eye to eye with Tem, and i think he could have handled some things differently, as could i. We both had some shit going on and provocations were a good opportunity to vent some excess rage that builded up inside. Otherwise, what Tem said above.

Actually, i don't think so at all. My skin was thickened through a series of disappointing brushes with the e+ collective, and isolated incidents that all contributed in the grand build up towards what would be the me and Tem getting banned drama. I gained a lot of perspective since, and it's really hard for me to say if whatever changed here, changed for the better (despite what i wrote in the first post in this discussion, i don't really think this place is bad and everyone here is a moron). The "groupthink" view, as you call it, is rather a general consensus plus generous amounts of #care with some Xd plz mixed in. I was as aggravated by being singled out as The Great Enemy of E+ and an Agent of Edawne as i was by the fact that the masses, some of which i considered mates, stood by watching, not saying anything, or even actually agreeing with the ridiculous claims.
Well you guys were mods and heavily involved in the community, I guess both you had personal issues with people (Leaukothea? Oh, i had personal issues with a whole lot of guys back when i was a mod. It might not have seemed like it was bad on the surface, but believe me, it was fucked up. Wish i saved some of the messages i got in pm. Ina was an entirely different and unrelated episode, which i never actually tied to my general issues with E+ (except on some meta levels in Xd plz rants with Tem).
i can't think of any community letting posts like that slip (in connection with the whole edawn vs e+ thing), and for such a long timeperiod. That's why I feel it's somehow...humm...uncalled for to critique E+ over fascist mods or narrowmindedness.
Really? You can't think of even one? I guess i get around more, then. I partake in a lot of different communities these days, and i can't imagine getting as much as a warning for even the most hardcore, evil, foul thing i've done or wrote here (which i think was calling Kee a pedo? That was what got me banned, after all). More so, i can't imagine Tem getting his wrist slapped either, in fact, he'd fit right in, in most of them.
This is a part of why i consider this place as so peculiar. It's really hard to relate to what i'm saying if all you do is sit here all day long.
I guess it's all water under the bridge, yes?
It is for me. I really don't have any big issues left and am not looking to troll the shit out of anyone, though i might be mean to someone once in a while. No malice intended, like i said,, i just like being an asshole.
stop spaming around here pls....this is new clan members coments...and now seems is a discusion : >
try use pm : P
Don't be a dick, we're wrapping it up. Look here: gl Jeffrey in unique. Much more useful and informative? I'd hope so.
Oh and about the hive-mind, it almost never is like suddenly 100 people say the same thing, it runs via the vehicle of a vocal minority that isn't afraid to voice their opinions and thus influence the ones who prefer to stay in the background. That's how preconceptions and stereotypes spread, and it's no different here. People like you, Mirc, Fala, Mow, Skull etc are exactly that.
