PC = WORKING
Bad news guys my gaming pc is fucked up...not sure what my bro did to it but came home from work yesterday and it wouldn't boot up or start I tried taking all the parts out and cleaning it and make sure everything was connected but still no luck then today when I got home tried powering it up but now the power supply is dead dunno whats wrong maybe a bad virus or something I can veiw the net with this pc but too slow to play any games on until I get this problem fixed I can't play any q3. I'm gonna try to scavage up all the working parts and probably just do an upgrade dunno how long it will take though as my free time is not the best...and not sure whats wrong with it, but I'll still be here if you guys need anything let me know.
aw crap man. horrible news.
btw if u could explain the problem in more detail im pretty sure therell be somebody around the community who can help. also if the problem seems to be with the way windows responds, then just copy all the files u need to another system, format the entire hard drive and reinstall windows. or better yet switch to linux hehe.
hope u can get back soon.
sorry to hear that bro awwww.... i hope u can get ur pc fixed , we have to do some work here at CW ...we miss ur frags ....peace...
Hmm... I don't think its a power supply issue do to the fact that it DOES turn on, even if for only a few seconds.
BUT, a couple things that instantly popped into my head:
Check all your capacitors on the motherboard... If any of them have a hard caramel colored substance on them, then its a mobo issue, and it should be replaced. (If you can open the power supply, then it'd be a good idea to check there as well... BE SURE ITS UNPLUGGED!!! Or the vultures might be eating toasted remy for lunch)
OR...
If the machine POSTs, then tries to boot windows and shuts down/off, then its possible that it has a boot sector virus. Try taking the hard drive out of that machine, put it in another and run a scan on it. Might be a good idea to do a "chkdsk /f" on that drive as well while you got it in that machine... corrupted system files CAN cause a machine to NOT boot... a chkdsk (check disk) might be able to fix it, be sure to run it with the "/f" switch like stated above... and in case you didn't already know, do this at a command prompt)

Well, it seems to be corrupted cmos data to me, remove the battery, use the jumper to short the cmos data (sometimes JP1) and reenter the bios setup, load optimum values, or default!
Hehe, i knew it...
Give me a shout on msn and we'll try and work it out.
BTW... might wanna give microsoft a call about the liscensing for your OS... installation of a mobo will fuck it all up... (does the whole deal about registering your copy of XP, just like when you do a fresh install with a new copy of XP... that is if your HD was already imaged when u got your machine from the manufacturer)... I'll explain in more detail later.

My pc wont start up at all when you turn it on it dies after 5 secs so the power supply is dead but before this happened it would turn on but you wouldn't be able to see anything on the moniter I swapped in a older VC but that wasn't the problem either so its either my cpu or motherboard... I ordered some new parts just waiting for them to arrive, hopefully a new cpu and motherboard would do the trick.
Dont mess with Class or they'll rail your Ass !!
