Plus.cfg shotgun rail trails - yes or no?
how about cg_railtrailtime 0?
that's what i have.
cause else i lag at every shotgun shot

But shotgun with rails instead of bullets is just the typical excessive feature
Without them something would be missing...
cg_railtrailtime affects BOTH rg's and sg's trails the same way. I want railgun to shoot a beam of sexy, and be able to see it, while at the same time want my shotgun to shoot a spread of highpowered pellets into my enemies crotches. Or something. Whatever, point is, sg + railtrail = gay.
Whats next?, removing the trail from the railgun? removing the flare from the BFG?
ff thats bs.
its possible to remove the trail of the rail and the shotgun with cg_railtrailtime 0, but some people just want the railtrails of the rg and not the of the sg(like its normal in baseq3).
since its already possible to disable this due to some cfg setting in the plus.cfg, this is a voting about it:
Plus.cfg shotgun rail trails - yes or no?
to the bfg flare.
the bfg flare is normal in baseq3 too, there is no settings about it.
so completly different thing, u cant compare this with removing trail of the railgun.
edit:@ topic.
yes +1

The thing is that you can already do that in the cfg, and from what I hear, many have. Shorter/none duration, much thinner trails (having higher FOV alone will do that).
_IMO_, there is really no good reason to not give people the option (apart from if it's hard to implement etc). I like high graphics and default railgun, but what that does to the shotgun is just kind of pointless. Fun for the ten first minutes you try the mod maybe.
Now this isn't exactly the most important thing ever because shotgun is hardly an overused weapon at all, but just since the question is brought up my vote is for no shotgun trails.
-edit-
Wrote same time as skully, don't mean to jump on FF in any way
omg... guys that can be easy disabled in weapon cfg ''Style: 0''
, but i do like trails, try
use r_railwidth 1 ; r_railcorewidth 1 ; r_railsegmentlenght 1000 //i am playing like that from the begining
i like trails of sg
btw if u talk about yors client settings its so easy to do...

Pointless 99% of the time, which is how often I walk around with the railgun out
But yeah this is what it was about wasn't it, if it should be on or off in plus.cfg ?

YES! That's how I would've said it too, I want to control this cvar so I can have some railtrail (e.g., optional vstr toggle in cfg for cg_railtrailtime "0", "100", "300" depending on server/lag/packetloss I'm playing with) and have another cvar for the shotgun so I can eliminate it altogether. I've always preferred the baseq3 shotgun style, it'd be great to implement some option for this.
if you miss, the trails can be a locator of where you are
That's why u have sound ...peace...
skull mentioned these settings to change trailtime too ut they don't work really nice.
well im dosent have single trouble with that binds they works perfect for me
where he gived extample ?
skull mentioned these settings to change trailtime too but they don't work really nice.
As for standard thin railtrail, i like my rail thick and sexy as mad said ;]
Anyway, the poll isn't very clear...yet (?)
Hope 1.04 isn't far away ;(
ps fox don't exaggerate Maybe 95% of the quake community or more has no sg with rails...
