Agree with separating site nav from profile links. Theres lots of space on the top for it (can use icons too). Right now sit is not what I would call user friendly. For example:

wow nice

Looks great! Has my vote! Happy

Yes. Sorry, but that last screen looks like a site generated by Microsoft Publisher. Winking
Well, there it too much free room on the content for me with those colors, it looks like something is "missing", it's just half "done".
Also hr-like lines are suboptimal optical.

What the site needs in my opinion are design boxes, a neater looking navigation (if that should be on the top horizontally, think about that it could be enhanced with new items, so there is probably not enough space or it will be getting more like one row, but there could also be the most important static links of course), more font color variations, etc. to make sections more clear at least. At the moment the whole design is about "background.jpg" and and the brighter or darker color variations are only applied by half-transparency layers as it seems to me (not really sure).

If you change the body background to a dark blue color (#00173A or so) and make the font color white it looks a bit better than the "undertaker style" without section seperation. Happy

But well, the site looks like it is a big custom cms, so I won't say "it's plain ugly", as it's not and it seems to me that there is a lot of work behind it. If I look at the source a whole lot of classes are used, so it seems to me it's already pretty flexible to change the design, though I didn't try to change anything except the body colors.

I can't remember the old style, as I didn't drop by often, but it looks to me like the best colors for this forums would be dark blue (e+ logo), red (q3 logo), white and maybe grey or black.

In the end it's all about taste, so I would suggest some design enthusiats should contact some admins and ask if they can contribute with a design to cover all needs.

And of course other things are more important. The site is functional and other things needs to be updated on the mod itself (both to my understanding), that is what matters most I guess.

Btw. faster site loading with analytics (asynchronous): http://code.google.com/intl/de-DE/apis/analytics/docs/tracking/asyncTracking.html

it's a big deal. we're a community ....

The relation between people with "community attidude" to egoists and "i dont care attidude" is maybe 1:10.

I really have to laugh when some people say "we are a community".

Well, i get what u mean. Just directly translated into german, to the word "Gemeinschaft", it just sounds redicolous.

or you can try like i did on my website

logo on left user menu on right and navigation below, this way you can separate user and menu navigation (with drop-down submenus) fill some empty space at top, and content get wider Happy

somethin like that is what i meant, but you can easilly work the nav into the e+ logo
and that's what i had in mind with the login, but there should be more color in the header
also, more seperation between right side menus, as someone said earlier, graphical boxes.
blahblah, so on
