what is better 4 x 2000mhz or 2 x 3000mhz?
lal what a 4x or 2x :>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
only ppl who works on professionals application for graphics or video editing will use the power of quad core cpus, nobody more atm. Reason is simple; their programs can split power on more than one thread.
Most game even dont use second core so what about 3rd and 4th ;>
So better for gamer is buy faster dual core than slower quadcore.
exactly
@niko: do you know why has two cores better support than you though? I will tell you. Because of Intels HT. Because of this old ad hip many software developers started optimize their aplications for two cores. So if after few years was on commercial sale real cpu with two real cores, there was more aplications with can use it. But support of four cores is still weak and now is still better to save money and dont jerk it for nothing (quake wont be faster )

Intel® Pentium DualCore E2160 ~60€
Thermalright Kühlkörper SI-128 SE ~40€
Corsair DIMM 2 GB DDR2-800 EPP Kit ~80€ <---cost 64€ lol
Club 3D CGAX-3856DD ~150€thats what i would buy. very much overclock is possible and for this price its nice i think. HD3850 should be faster as 8600gt.
Core2 Duo E4400 € 93,-
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 € 80,-
Sapphire 256MB 3850 € 139,-
A-DATA DIMM 2GB € 42,-
Corsair HX 520W € 80,- if needed
Samsung HD501LJ € 80,- if neededand yes the 3850 is faster than a 8600GT
I'd suggest:
E2180 (couple bucks more than 2160, but has 11X multiplier and G0 steppings)
or the
E4500 (about the same price as E4400)
Difference between the two is the E21XX comes w/1MB of L2 cache, while the E4XXX comes with 2MB of L2 cache. The difference in performance is roughly 200Mhz extra on the proccessor. So for 50% more cost you get ~10% more performance.
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L
A-DATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR6400
AMD HD3850
PSU - an efficient ~400W from a quality brand name (Enermax, Antec, FSP, OCZ, Corsair) a Quality PSU is VERY IMPORTANT
or just listen to what Silence or Simpson says, they seem to know what there talking about.
