This thread isn't about how good I am and I don't really see how that's completely relevant to what I said. It's not like I've only ever played excessive either. The guy asked for tips and I offered plenty of good ones. Some are debatable, and obviously it's not a guide to follow 100%, but to take into consideration.

Yes, there's lots of newbies on DeeX, but most of the time I play there's at least a few good players.

And don't take one sentence from what I said and debunk it, look at the whole thing. I said use the appropriate weapon for the situation. I guess I didn't directly say that you shouldn't ALWAYS fly around, but I sort of did. I said sometimes try to be quiet and take a few shots from the entrance to a room. I myself walk around and use stealth plenty of times but I forgot to mention that (but oh wait, that could sometimes be considered camping :roll:). Besides, I'm not gonna list every damn thing you could do in the game. At least I offered some solid advice. When I said walk around fast all the time, I guess I should have stated it differently. Don't just run around on the ground like a sitting duck. Either be stealthy/quiet or move quickly. I don't see how the middle ground could be an advantage unless you're just positioning for a shot around a door or something.

I don't play on other servers because I don't want to play on high ping European servers and I don't know of any other populated North American servers with good ping. I'll be glad to play on a server where I ping good and there's regularly other people late at night. Tell me the address of such servers (seriously, I'm not being sarcastic). I guess I know of PHC but I haven't tried it enough to know if there's regularly people there.

People are obviously going to do what works for them. But if people give advice on other things to try, they might find things that work better. This is what this thread is about.

Finding out HOW to play this game is a huge part of doing good. It's not just aim and basic FPS skills. People could use some tips if they haven't figured it out themselves. And I'm not being pretentious, I never really brought my skill into this and didn't say I was good. I just said I did fine using a certain strategy - most likely better than the people would be asking these questions anyway. I don't even want people to think I'm good because I hate setting expectations for myself. I know there are people who would be happy to see this advice, although probably not many of them are on these forums. I've never seen such advice being given here before. So, please lay off.

My advice - don't train. Ever. It's bad for the teeth.

Join a server, and if you see some good players there, stay on spect and annoy them until they leave. A good tactic here is engaging a few other ppl in a senseless innuendo. Talk about something extremely boring, and sometimes put up a discouraging comment about the currently spectated player, like "OMFG how could you miss that?" "You play like noob." "Need pampers?" etc

When all good players leave, join in. Now, there are a few other things you can do, depending wether you are winning or losing.

If you are winning, just do your stuff. Laff at the poor losers.

If you are losing, spam the chat with "OMG i haven't played for 1253 weeks" "I'm not trying, you guys are too n00b" "My mouse is broken" "I'm tired" "I drank 1359357025375283417249182715893725 beers" and the like. Camp as often as you can. Never engage in direct combat, run away on first sight of an enemy. If cornered, do /kill. Change teams as often as you can. Teamshoot everything.

Soon all the other players will leave, and you will be alone on the server. Congratulation, you won! Have a smoke and smile. You sure kicked ass, sonny. ;d

To make it more effective, disconnect and immediately reconnect! Do so until the level of annoyance reaches ear-bleeding.

Or when the opponent cheats. Like me.

1. My diurnal rhythm produces a couple of very boring hours so I might not be completely lifeless even though I took the time to put this together, it wasn't really much work anyway. Guess you can see that, heh.
2. I'm not the most mature guy in the conversation either, but please see it as one of my weak sides; lowering myself to the level of my counterpart. Amelia and Death have been on my back pretty much since I started Ex+ so no, I'd never start something like this. Death's comments turned out pretty hilarious though, hope some one enjoys

And: Like I said, boring hours (for me, dunno what time of day it is for them) so no didn't really have anything "better" to do... Except surfing the intarweb without goal and chatting which there's plenty of time to do anyway without those 30 minutes xD But yeah, it's not "that" fun, I'll just stroke myself a little when some one calls me a cheater and then see if that /ignore thing works and leave it at that. \:D/
