Maybe the zip downloaded was corrupt. Download again, if the error continue, please, tell me if you are using quake3, ioquake or openarena, and what windows/linux version you use. The last version was tested by three friends with no problems. If you have a puntual error, I need reproduce it. Thanks!

I re-downloaded and merged the excessive plus folder with your e+ folder.
I use quake 3 arena on a win7 64 bit system
There's nothing wrong with my install as far as i can tell but i can always do another (of quake xd).

I think you are using original .exe of quake 3. Try use last optimized versions of quake from ioquake.org.
Good luck.

Note: I confirm you, old versions I compiled used quake3 original make. This last version use ioquake 1.36 code that uses vm optimizations but break compatibility with quake3 1.32b. Use new 1.36 quake.exe and you can use voip, 3D, openal sound, and many more improvements.

I install it on another pc (win98) then move it across network. its possible. anyways my original quake3 (with patchs and from CD) should be should be supported Sleepy . oh and my PC is a laptop.

"2.- Launch Q3/OA and select excessiveplus in the mods menu." right?

Q3<=IOQUAKE3. If you want to use the last releases of UIE 1.3 you will need upgrade your old quake3 to ioquake3 (http://ioquake3.org/get-it/).
