there is this old wisdom of never change a running system.
1.03 was running like hell compared to other versions and ALL people wanted were bugfixes.
And then dev came along with a lot of new implementations that never worked out as good.

Its like comparing OSP to CPMA, while first is so raw you can grasp every thing in it, the last is all about interpolation.

Hehe, times change. I still remeber that day we've got hundreds of PMs with all the whine about 1.03. Why the hell did we change the switch time?! Why fixing the "switch-bug"?! Multi-arena? WTF?? 1.02b was perfect! Now all servers suck! mullder was in rage, bro.cfg was "unplayable"...

But yes, the times were great back then. Quake 3 wasn't antique. You couldn't run it on your smartphone and decent hardware was required to play it. No Quake Live, no other good games for distraction. People were younger, had more time...

Times change...

I vote for 2.4!

^^ if you are "talking" about evolution... only one future of this mod is implementation to quake live...

I would say, implementing E+ to that new upcoming game based on Q3 engine and cpma mod called "Reflex" would be just awesome ;p

They played all the time! Took me a while to figure out some of HQ's fakenicks, though. Winking
Hell, back then it was mostly "god damnit, some random fakenick Swede destroyed the server again". Half the time it was either you or Torz. Big grin

Also I remember once there was this discussion on how 1.03 rocks comparing to newer version so even someone hosted some ftag server on 1.03 but even then it failed with noone playing on it and in that time there was still bigger activity on e+ Happy

I vote for 2.4!

as one of the rare peeps around here who played everything from 1.02b up to 2.3, ALL problems could have been fixed by some REAL beta testing.
1.02b itself was a hotfix - 1.03 was the next stable release.
and after that on 1.04 there was some bloody netcode change which ruined so much people hated it.

to be honest I still train on 1.03 cuz im to lazy to migrate my training configs to 2.3!

Oh - and a lot of Problems could be solved by just letting Rank team decide upon needed features.

Why you left out 2.4? Without the current release of the mod this poll makes no sense.
