A few problems (linux)

I have been having a few problems lately, and would like to share them to see if anyone else has run into them. I use an mx518 in Linux (KDE).
1. My mouse has begun to autofire. Not the cheating kind of autofire, the annoying kind. For example, sometimes I will use the LG, and it will continue to fire even after releasing the mouse. It does this in an empty arena, so I know it's nothing cheat related. I've played with it, and have realized it stops when I move the mouse or switch weapons. This might relate to my second problem.
2. Sometimes, after spawning, I am unable to move for a second or two, and think it's related to problem one.
3. Sometimes after hitting the tilde key(~) to drop down the console, I will experience a lag of almost 3 seconds before it actually drops down. My computer is fast, and this is a recent event.
I have tested all of this in openbox, and experience the same thing, so I'm almost certain it is not KDE related. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Messing around a little more today, I noticed that the console problem is related to the mouse problem. If I hit the tilde and the console doesn't come down, it does the second I move the mouse.

Ok, this wasn't a matter of Quake 3 settings. It seems there is a problem with the current version of Xorg that I was using. I reverted back to old versions of some packages (xorg-server, xorg-xinit, xf86-input-mouse, xf86-input keyboard) and now everything is working grand. I'm surprised no one else has complained about this, it's a terrible bug.

i used ubuntu 7.04 and later 7.10. I never solved problem with random switch fullscreen to windowed after enter. Maybe every 5th pressing ingame enter (i have bind for stats on it and iam using it for sending chat messages) it windowed game. Simply unplayable. I cant though back for some next problems so maybe this was only one problem which i had with q3 under linux

Disabling compiz might help
