Fact: The arenas in Quake are not whole cities or villages. Simple maps you can control and check. You can't hide behind a window or something.

We play freeze 3vs3. Red team has one player and blue team one. Player x from blue team is in the yellow armor in the ammo pillars dm6. Player y from red team comes around the corner proud with himself about making the super cool strafe jumps around the map. Player x smiles and rails his face while player y thinks "fucking camper! i wonder why noobs like him don't dance like fairies around the map like me".

Who's fault is it in this case? Player x who played carefully/camped or player y who marched in a room without checking it's "content"? I am not saying don't move. I am not saying camp. All i am saying is be careful! Quake doesn't have massive arenas that you can snipe behind a window a mile away. It's your fault you get camped cause you didn't check. Don't cry like a baby cause the other players don't do what you want them to do.

again: this is pointless i think...EVERYTHING IS ALLOWED!

Ah i forgot, i'm not referring to Freeze, because it requires kind of sneakness as you don't respawn and actually got to play tactical to give mode sense, that's also why i avoid playing it.

Almost the same goes for tdm imo. In public servers it's a brainless fragfest so you are right but in cws things get tight and tactics count alot. Solid gamestyle. If someone chooses to face a wall half the time to make a bfg jump or a rocket jump, ok. If someone doesn't get bored of sitting around in one room, ok. It's your gameplay, it's their gameplay. One sacrifices aim for movement and the other becomes easy target for someone who knows his position (for someone who checks before marching that is).
