isnt KOD dead ? Cool

Isn't.

BTW also what with refreshing? On laptop screen i have 60Hz and it's bit slower than was on CRT. Will lcd faster?

LCD technology doesnt allows refresh rates like CRT. Maybe some LCD for profi use can have it higher but mainstream has 60Hz

kinda like Beazt said...

CRT uses a Braunsch' duct. Having some electron beam. 1 Hz means 1 time having the beam passing the screen per second and so projecting a picture.
When the picture is once finished being created (beam reaches the ground of your screen) it just starts again from the top.

LCD does have cristals. 3 or 4 per pixel (I think?) activated by electric power and causing a decent color. To change the color the cristals need to cool down and be activated again. That time is given by the "response time".

So while in CRT the picture is regenerated all the time (whether or not it changes) the picture in LCD is static and just changed if needed. On CRT the refresh rate limits your seen FPS (thats what for the command "sync to frame" is) while on LCD the seen FPS are limited by the response time. 2ms grey to grey should be about 6-8ms color to color and so you might get up to 150 seen fps...

at least that is how I understood those stuff  prolly not 100% correct, but you should get an idea of it Big grin

nah thats not correct.
its the delay time after a command to change colour for a pixel.
and a small colour change takes less time then a big colour change for a pixel.

gfx output of 75 hz = 75 screens send to tft, so effective u will see 75 fps which are also delayed by colors (very annoying on dm17, u shoot where u seen enemy, but he is delayed and u dont hit on long distances)
there will be nothing as fast and direct as a crt, ever!

don't say things like that or you might join the ranks of people who said things like

“I think there is a world market for maybe five computers”

“The problem with television is that people must sit and keep their eyes glued to the screen; the average American family hasn't time for it.”

“X-rays will prove to be a hoax”

“Radio has no future”

“Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible”

and so on Smug

they do... especially plasma is very slow... led is way faster but not that great for screens as I know
