How-To install quake3-excessiveplus under linux

yes i tried windowed mode. Didnt help. For now iam still playing q3 from win. I didnt remove win from my hdd because of ikea home planner where i have saved kitchen and i will need it

ok, my q3e+ finaly running. I downloaded 1.32b patch, installed it and copied pak0.pk3, key file and map files into baseq directory and copied e+ folder. And its ok. But its needed to turn off beryl (switch to metacity window manager) because of low fps Sad

Actual problem is, that i cant use console Sad Dont you know why? If i press button, nothing happens. I changed bind to key m but its still without difference

for console you must use this combination
alt-gr + ì
because on linux if you press this buttons you write the ascii code alt+126, ~,
I think because q3 for linux is only us version.

OK, i tried that combination of keys and nothing Happy I have it under ALT GR + H. Problem is, that sometimes after press enter (because of chat or adding some commands to console) quake minimize to window. Its little breaking my fun from game if 10x in one map iam swithching screen to window and back.

CTRL+ALT+ENTER is the X shortkey for switching between fullscreen and windowed mode of a program.

I had once no console either, caused by having "~" and "`" both bound for console. It's a shot into the dark, but you could try eliminating multiple binds for console.

thanx but i still dont understand why it happens that sometimes its minimalizing from fullscreen to windows after only enter and how to solve it

nope Happy Btw if iam playing on servers where is PB on after some time quake drop down to desktop (?)

You got really weird problems. It looks like your window manager might be intercepting your keyboard input and has a load of mysterious shortkeys you are stumbling on...

Try the default Q3 config to see if we can disregard a messed up Q3 config.
