Ping 999ms when updating players
Hi,
I have a problem and I would like to know if anyone else has the same.
This problem doesnt occur on the BEER only, dunno why.
When I connect to a server and join the game, the game will freeze during 30 seconds or more when I'm killed, precisely when the scoresboard is displaying and the game updating other player models.
This happens even with enemymodel and the command cg_deferplayers doesnt affect anything.
It happens too when players are connecting to the server, but not all players, just few.
And it happens always on the ERA17.
I dont find how to avoid it. Someone already had this shit, or has an idea to resolve it?
Thanx for answers.
cg_deferPlayers 1
This will make Quake3 load up new models ONLY when you look at the score board, or when you die.
Well when you die you have the scores shoved in your face and this is when the models will load . This helps to fix lock ups when a new player joins the server, and as [TJD]Rico has commented it`s better when you die that you lockup, then to freeze when your alive and the enemy is about to take aim!
so for me .. i dont remember adding something else then this cg_deferPlayers 1 and it works.....
But again this load will happen if i look at the score or if it some1 joins when i die (the scores are visible) ... maybe it happens to you on era cause you either watch scores to much or you die too much and watch the scores then ? I mean in particularly that if you play a FFA railonly the probability for the scores to appear is much bigger then on a FTAG all weapons.. (excepting the case when you spam the scores button ..)
if there is something else then this .. i would be glad to hear too!

MMmh, all right. Thanks for responding so quickly
If you connect to ERA17 and play a while does it happen to you when the scores are displayed for the first time?
