[POLL] Gaming monitor 4K or 144Hz?
(120 as i see can be on dvi)
No, thats just the max refresh rate on 1200p, on 1080p it does 144hz.
hm so for 144 hz i need to use hdmi?
No, HDMI is mostly 60hz, 144hz is just possible on newest hdmi standard as far as i know. And even then I guess on the components not support it. Displayport is better, but I don't know exact details.
what u mean for DUAL dvi? what is this dual link n single link for dvi?
apparently dual link. double the link, double the bandwidth
and i still don't get if there are differences of graphic detail between dvi and hdmi..
no, since the data gets send digital the monitor either displays in full detail or doesnt at all.
ah this is all what i wanted to know, thx for answer. so no need hdmi...unless i want 4k-8k resolution or bring audio on same cable to some output source, also if i wanna watch a blu-ray coz of the hdcp..
so is my monitor lying by saying i use 144hz with (single) DVI?
would be a strange lie as it shows up as 144 in system configuration
anyone had some experience with this monitor? i got some offer by a friend to buy it for very low price, and i'm wondering if its good monitor

vg248qe asus and xl2430t responsiveness in miliseconds in test labs:
vg248qe release date ~ after 2013 january
benq xl2430 ~ before 2014 october.
Two non g-sync monitors with top responsiveness so far.
Took some time for Benq to catch up with Asus, i was lucky to snatch unopened xl2430t from ebay several months ago for 150 usd cheaper ( for 265~ )
The next excellent response non g-sync monitors are XL2411T and LG 24GM77 averaging 4.5 and 5 ms.
I am using DVI cable now, and used DP 1.2 for turning into 144hz too, was fine until some out of range messages started popping out on the display, i assumed it was a shit cable, i also had a failing vga, replaced vga, replaced a non-branded cable to Dell's d-port 1.2, and then it was fine, monitor doesn't allow any further DP 1.2, and no hdmi cable allow 144hz with this monitor, but i am staying with dvi now, don't remember why.
What about FreeSync vs G-Sync? http://www.pcworld.com/article/2897623/hands-on-with-amds-freesync-the-technology-that-could-kill-nvidias-g-sync.html
Obviously this is a nobrainer... go for a 4K display!

for daily usage it's ok , for gaming not so much

If both create same mouse input lag as vsync they are a no go.
Using my asus with a cheap DP cable now, works good.
If you put a SSD (for example Kingston HyperX 3K 120 Go) in a external housing, your system will also says it can up to 500Mo/s.
Now consider this housing use USB 1.0 interface, SSD can up to 500Mo/s and the system will confirm you the specs, but the bandwidth will belong to the smaller link of the chain, here the USB 1.0 cable so 1,5Mo/s, it's the same thing for which cable you are using for your display.
