I have a big problem... my college use a protected proxy to connect in internet (with a lan) so i have to configure each programs with the PROXY SERVER, PORT AND USERNAME & PASSWORD to start the programs like msn, ecc ecc... but quake3 havent the configuration utility for this type of connection... so i cannot configure the game to connect with this proxy.... and now??? someone can help me please??
You have to ask your system admin to allow port forwarding on UDP ports.
When i was in Uni, i couldnt buy the admins (uncorraptable basstards ) and just didnt play quake.
Ask the admins. there is no other way around
you might try 2 lil programs that could bypass the port blockage. Your Freedom and Socks Cap.
More details here: http://www.your-freedom.net/
You will never connect!
In UNIs .. the most ports are closed and filtering, and information like that (playing UDP quake3) is .. impossible to be transferred.
You can do only one thing ... MAKE YOUR OWN PROXY SERVER
and connect to if on port 80 ... so on your mashine, leave the i/o port's string blank and set full access...
I did that way to play q3e in my uni and the administrator watched and didn't got how the f*ck i did it
