Bravo, and I'd like to add here that I play on other servers without the "NO SKILLED PLAYERS ALLOWED" tag and often get /callvote kick on me by lesser-skilled ppl myself. I'm not joking around and saying I'm nearly as skilled as Torzelan, it's just that there are SO many levels of playing this game... and I fall somewhere in the middle of the general populace.
Anyway, you should definitely put in your server name "for new players" or something if this is the case, because it's really fucking annoying to go to a server and have people spec and accuse you of cheating *all the time*. You know how many demos I've had ruined because of this behavior?

I absolutely NOT want to throw fuel on the fire, will this be evident, but I need to do a little puntualization concerning my previous post.
I was not blaming Torzelan for his behaviour on the TIFS server, but mainly for his behaviour HERE, on the Forum.
Noboby can call anyone "coward" for absolutely NO reason.
Nobody can judge admins' doing by his own point of view.
Nobody can freely insult anyone for no reason.
One player has absolutely the right to be the most skilled and perfect-aiming person in the world: if he really IS that good, and isn't a cheater, he has also the perfect right of gaming as much as all the other people.
BUT, and this is the limit, if he is really SO skilled that he could turn a "Capture the Flag" game into a "Shoot The Pigeon" one, well, that CAN be considered by all the other players as... boring.
Yes, that's the point.
Capture the TIFS is NOT a professional arena. It's not a permanent World Championship of The Best "Quakers".
It's "simply" a place where everyone can go to PLAY and HAVE FUN with other gamers.
Fair Play. Balanced Teams. Good Games.
For this reason, it's good to join the team with lesser points or lesser players. Some playes, like Snoopy or Raptor, do the best: they join one team, do some points, and than join the OTHER team to balance the work.
They are high-skilled players, and they equally share their skill with both teams. Sounds really GREAT to me.
For this reason isn't good to join the bigger or harder team.
For this reason it's a shame to "winjoin" a team.
For this reason it's a double shame using cheats.
They all makes the gaming boring, and meaningless.
SO, the community CAN kick anyone ruining this in any way, even with his too-high skill level.
SO, you can't call "coward" a player that kicks someone NOT to get rid of an high-skilled opponent, but to get rid of a person that ruins everyone's funny playing.
SO, admins and server's owner CAN do all the necessary to achieve this result: fair, good and funny gaming.
Winning or losing, it doesn't matter. We play just for FUN. No less. No more.
Hope this will better explain my humble point of view, and vaporize any previous misunderstanding.

a few things...
1) Like mentioned before, there is nowhere stating that Capture the Tifs is a "basic less experienced server"
2) Torzelan did nothing wrong. If he posted screenshots from my server, would i get upset? the answer is no. In fact I would encourage clan players like Torz to play on my server so less experienced players can learn and improve. Why should skilled players be penilised from servers? Maybe you need to rename the server "Capture the Noob"

Next time we are losing cw, i will ban 2 or 3 of the best opponent players, because they spoil my fun. hehe.
And pls, be prepared, on 2!S Freeze i will ban everybody who scores higher than me, because i dont like to be beaten. And because i dont like camping i will kick all who cower a place longer than 5 secs.

Let me tell you guys, i had a big laugh reading thru this stuff.
And honestly, it dosent get any simpler than that - a bunch of noobs are whining coz they got their asses kicked, and the owner of the server is trying to justify their bad sportsmanship coz they're "family".
What i find even more funny is how you assholes are trying to make Torz look like the bad guy here.
I'm sorry, i cant see ANYWHERE ANYONE saying to him "Hey man, look, we're not even near your skill level. Could you please do a /quit? It's not really all that fun playing against someone so good as you.

No, actually, it's sad that some people just cant swallow that there are better players than them, and instead of politely asking the fraggin' asskicker to move on to a server more matched to his skill level, they throw shit at him.
That just isnt fucking fair. How can you people live with yourselves, like ;d maybe set up a pass on the server and be done with it, lawl.
Maybe Torz is indeed destroying the fun for you Tifs ppl. But acting like this, you guys destroy something much more important - the good spirit of polite competitiveness. People can have different points of view, but that's the point.
Did you follow the 2004 F1 Championship?
The Championship was mathematically closed by Ferrari at his half, just becouse the "Red Ones" were at a differet level, so they overpowered all the others.
Sure, a huge victory, a great force demo. But Boring.
So much boring to convince the federation to change some rules to avoid such a boring championship in future.

One too skilled player (or a cheater, the effect is the same) makes the whole gaming boring.

Of course they can, easy as breathing. And very, very easy when, to take a concrete example, an admin explicitly states the reason for kicking being "cheating" without any proof. I cast my mighty +5 hammer of judgement and call that careless, irresponsible and yeah, lame and cowardic. You may disagree and already wrote five hundred words on how that is our right on the internet so I don't have to tell you that.
Well, technically they "can", but I get what you mean. But, as was the case with the first quote; nobody has. Here, atleast. Been some fun flinging on the server though, but guess who started 0% of those battle of the words.
So far so good, keep going...
Uh yeah, this goes for pretty much all public servers, but you are right. Though, the funny thing is that what I do in there is... *drumroll* "PLAY and HAVE FUN". What you people are doing is going spec, calling kickvotes, talking about stuff you have no clue about (mainly cheat accusing), making unbalanced teams and the admins abuse their powers, threaten with bans and use rcon kicks. Tadaa!
Yeah, it's heroic, really. Oh, and I also do it all the time myself. If so even to just please myself, if my team goes up 9-0 because of me (extreme case) then it'll be a whole lot of fun trying to go 10-9 with the other team. Though this doesn't count because I'm not "Snoopy or Raptor" or what?
Hey, sounds great to me too. Those players, and players like them, always end up in the other team, and we have long hard battles. I'm quite sure the winner feels unusually good after games like that.
Now this is fun. Joining like that sucks, doesn't it. Oh wait, it's what the admins themselves do all the time. They deliberately join the other team regardless of how things will turn out just because it's me. But oh wait let's ignore that right. 'cause, they're admins and all.

No. Your mindset makes the game boring. It's interesting if the fun is ruined for you when your opponent is better than you. How does that even work out?
Yeah. Uhm, wait. Where do I come into the picture since I fit into none of those categories, not joining the larger or winning team, or cheating?
Oh I can, and I do. I do, because the reason they have ALWAYS, no wait, ALWAYS stated, is "cheater!!!111". Not "you are too good and we are not enjoying the game when you are playing with us". This is the only place I've even seen the latter. I'm not ruining anyone's "funny playing". If you don't have fun when playing against some one good, it's your own problem, and a nice egoistic way of thinking when "your funny playing" - which is when you are not facing hard opposition - is what justifies kicking and banning better players.
Nobody is cheating, so it is fair. Atleast until the teams are insanely unbalanced to the point of screenshots such as the one I posted, but it's getting tedious with all the times I mention that I'm not the one making teamchoises like that, but rather other people... such as the admins themselves. "Good" gaming, oh please. Be more vague. I find it good. I also find it very funny. So there isn't actually a problem there - it's just you having one. No less, no more.
Sorry, but not really. I'd say we, or atleast I, pretty much understand your point of view and did all the time. The problem is infact the opposite, YOU please try to understand mine/our point of view. That's where we're not getting anywhere (such as Tifs getting out of arguments and resorting to emotalk like "get a heart" and leaving the discussion).
In the end actually, you've made your point overly clear several times now. "This server is for lowskilled players only, and too good players ruin our special community's fun and will be kicked and banned." It's blunt, but it's exactly the message you have conveyed and I guess we have understood now. Maybe you should be that blunt too instead of going out on far stretches which miss the point over and over. The MOTD suggestion stands.
