The wind of Change...
Good Game
is like good recepee for food, all ingridients are important even those which is used in small amount :!: So changing alot ingridients and amounts you can make great meal for you but for majority shitty meal. What you done that is not anymore E+.
Best regards
yes ... agree completly - that would use some additional skills and thou I undestand some part of ppl that dont want that kind of changes. However me personally would like to play more on the cfg like tartaros suggested.
I can see where your coming from tartaros, but imo the last think e+ needs is yet another cfg.
when i read the description of ur changes i ask me, like bert said, whats bout baseq3? why u play eplus when u nearly like nothing in this mod?
why will u change a mod in which so many ppl have fun.
sure some little changes like bro.cfg plus.cfg r ok
i agree with u in bfg an rocket changes.
also i agree that 16 players r too much.
but no multi jumps call me noob or whatever u want but here a big NO
also the thing that u must pick up weapons an ammo NO
i simply just wanna play eplus, no e5 or something else. with ur BIG changes eplus isnt eplus anymore.
regards
Fully agree with Tar.. This is no typical mod where there's an official config used on nearly all servers. So everyone seems to have their own view of what e+ really is/should be.. depending on the cfg they play.
The cfg suggested here is a mixture of bro and cpma/osp/baseq3. If you really believe it's identical to baseq3, then you probably haven't played that very often.
IMO it would be a great config for 1v1, since the game wouldn't only depend on luck and aim anymore, but also on movement, map control and tactics.
I've once started creating a similar cfg, but never completed it
I don't know if any of you remember, but we used to have a bro9.cfg which was very similar to osp/baseq3 and especially the 1on1 server was pretty popular for a while.
Hehe. When i first installed Quake, connected to a server and figured out that this is a mod, i thought "Cool, no need to install. And no need to download unknown maps!". I liked the doublejumps, because i always fell down on maps with holes. I liked the fast weapon switch, because this was real action for me. And what i really loved was the fact that you didn't need to follow any tactics, you have completly same conditions as your opponents, no need for gathering health or armor. And moreover i loved the feeling to kill your enemy instantly - as long as you were able to hit him. And although i didn't planned to get into Quake, i visited the servers more and more, because it improved everything that was in my opinion to lame in baseq3 which i didn't like.
To sum up, if people start playing this- whatever, but that's not excessive to me- they will do without me.
Best Regards,
Absti
btw. i guess in 1 year every player will play his own config.
edit:/

That's my point.
you need to drop enable first:
set this in ur misc:
"Drop Enable: 2;" without ""
than 33 should work
[code:1]/* Drop Enable
*
* Allow specific types for /drop
*
* 1 - CTF Flag
* 2 - Weapons
* 4 - Ammos
* 8 - Powerups
* 16 - Holdables
* 32 - Armor
* 64 - Health
*
* Example: Weapons + Ammos + CTF Flag -> 2 + 4 + 1 = 7
* or as human readable 'Drop Enable: "2 + 4 + 1";'
**/
Drop Enable: 127;
[/code:1]
A sort comment to clear things cause it's very missleading to say "That's e+." or "It won't be e+." etc
Excessive Plus is a mod that allows you to do pretty much anything you want with your weapon config. So it is a very big mistake to say this or that is e+. If you want to see what "Excessive Plus" really is, load the mod and start a map. Don't load any configs just...enjoy...the default.cfg which was meant by the creators to be "Excessive Plus". Like it? Thought so.
I personally think that bro-like cfgs have nothing more to offer to me. I am starting to get hungry for deeper gameplay which is possible to have. I made this thread to search people with same needs to create a cfg together.
I am working on one now. I'll probably have a rough version soon. I'll post it here. Open source works best in all things and that's what i am going to do.
--edit--
It might not work but at least i can say that i tried to change things.
