When i use a higher packet setting, my ping goes up, is that because im not setting it at the right setting for my connection?

explenation what snaps are.........

server max snaps'hots witch will be send to the clien are sv_fps and moust server do run at sv_fps 20, and that mean server will not send more than 20 snaps iven if client have snaps set to 1000000000000,

seting snps higer that fps are set on the server decresing ping of a server to client and help to kill litle lags, it server sending the information and not cliet are requesting them...... value of snaps are amount of snapshots(sv_fps) that client will resive if server do sent them.............

meny ppl perhaps noticed that on server who is sending 50snaps(sv_fps 50) some players do have higer ping than on normal 20, why ? couse the server sending to them more data.... and it they set thier snaps at 20 thier ping will drop.....

i am dont know how to explayn why ping server to client will drop couse of hight snaps only if he runs on sv_fps, but that is damn fact...

client can afect one thing if he set his cl_maxpackets to 1000000000 he will send lots information to the server

Problem is founded ?! All maps on baseq (original Q3) work perfect !!!!!!! When load excessiveplus maps result is FPS drop losing up to 40 %, why ? Enybody. Clean install Win XP, latest drivers, everything in local single user mode, against bots, stincts !!! Why ? ADSL is super duper, notebook from work wok just fine on net, standalone...

Problem is solved, at last. You cannot beleve what was the poblem.
I was suspicous about graphic card or AGP bridge in fact matherboard. I try another graphic card, result was same. That was a huge problem, because only thing that I can do is flashing BIOS, problem persist. Change matherboard ?! No !

All problems was processor temperature !!! Nice cleaning of heatsink and "voila" everithing work just perfect ! No more FPS drops. Can You imagine that ?

Today is my happy day. So people, clean Your heatsinks on CPU, GPU, chips... That is obviously very important ! Have nice day and play E+.
