16 bit colors?

ive fiddled with the gfx settings and forced vsync on and off. maybe my system just cant handle q3

test out if ur pc can force vsync by lowering refresh rate
if u can use vsync, set ur monitor hz manually to 125 and force vsync.

If ur hardware is capable of 125 fps/120 Hz u dont need vsync.Vsync adds input lag to mouse and keyboard and I rather not start how bad this gets on lcd's...even a fast one like mine.Fifa 08 for example is not much affected by this but in quake it becomes unbearable.On my old CRT I clearly remmember input lag as well,with vsync enabled in quake sens felt more "smooth",but this was a false feeling,actually it was delaying on the screen and shooting was delayed as well (mouse buttons).

Reno what do u mean by graphics shred? If u wanna try lower res u can try cranking up the details settings in drivers,AA+ANISO all the way to the max to compensate for lower amount of pixels.
