That's about the public servers, but there have been more of clan/pcw scene up until the edawn switch. (clans list going below)

EN, fuC as oldskool clans that came from the Excessive mod to Excessiveplus, and later in 05-06 came ED, ><, and pGv. We were joined by Russian superstar clan KTR (a merger of 2 clans) and "best of" Poland" clan TVL which was the only Excessiveplus clan to ever beat EN. Bananas cup I belive had 8 clans? And plus never really went above like 5? ( KO, LEM, SWE, DRT, 2!s, XP, THC, DA, NWC, WASP all played it but since I am covering a large timeline and while half of the list played, other half didn't exist, and vice versa, first half died while second were just beginning)

At the top of its popularity, excessive CTF had a scene smaller than noghost
at the same time (but had same notion of "best of Europe" vs "best of America's"
(if I remember a few of the conversations me and Sekesh had in like 2007 about the "old days" and the grudge leagyes, to summarise it was an active league but it was never a large one (like 8-12 clans (?)actively playing excessive CTF ~ any given time, only 3 of those ever transforming themselves into excessiveplus (EN, fuC and McN). Now let's take a look at Barrysworld leagues running Q3 3wave between 2000 and 2003. 5 Divisions and 12-16 clans in each one (while there were also House of Quake competitions, as well as ESL and later, BiBs (bring it back to safety). Even latter clanbase OSP ctf was on a 3-div basis.

Now I'm not saying that your particular league was bad or not competitive, but considering Frog's been an active osp member in a Lithuanian mid-div clan, and is much more aware of the Quake scene then all of you guys put together (he's an ESL admin), in the end it should be froggy lmao'ing at you guys, not the other way round
