check programs in background cuz q3 is very sensitive on programs working in background and they cause fps drops (in gama lags) its main reason of button holding. That why is impossible set 1000hz on g5 or other mouse without any problems. btw i played long on g5 @ 1000hz in cs and nothing bad happened, only in q3 i have this crap with mouse.

When i change to 1000hz cpu drop to about 55% usage when i move her and watch at program manager when you see cpu usage, when 500hz cpu about 35% on 125hz about 15%. So at 1000hz when is lot of ppl at server my fps droping down. my cpu is P4 1.7ghz.
(btw my G5 mouse don't have any traction loss, maybe cuz i have BF2142 edition or maybe it's only new logo on mouse =] )
btw2 There is also new g5 refreshed from 2007 year with 2side buttons like mx518.

Refresh speed on faster pc doesnt have big inflance to cpu load, on my athlon 2600 i didnt see any diferent on cpu load between 500 and 1000 hz. I think ur prob with big cpu load is not cpu speed but ur mobo doesnt support usb 2.0.

About tractions loss, i dont have big problem to loss traction on my old qck. Ill show smth after when i come back to home. Bf 2142 version is nothing other than normal g5 with a lil different top (maybe i should release ko g5 ver Happy )

btw small gift for readers

doods u also subtrated the mousecase from the sens?
cuz 60 cm @ hq are with mousecase 88cm
if u got 55 cm with mousecase, no wonder u dont get traction loss
or ur moving it to slow.

(larry got a short cable btw <: )

doesnt drill had tractionloss with 45 cm per turn?

i have a g5, very first edition. I got like 11 cm/360 turn, and i dont feel any traction loss, but i'm not satisfied at all how this mouse works on the Steelpad QCK (cloth pad). It worked 100x better on my old func (plastic surface). Gonna buy myself one of the new func's and wipe my ass with the QCK.

dont know exactly if its plastic or teflon (i will look it up)
but its smells like wheels of a car if its new Big grin

edit:
this is what u find on hp of gamerswear:
The surface of the MTW Pad is made of a friction-less material, used in Medical institutes and Space programs.

It was created according to our specifications, to create a perfect surface for splitting the laser from a mouse, or to grip the mouse ball.

The surface proves itself with it's high performance handling, which translates into precise aiming.

i wasnt be able to check this thing during when i was writing previous post cuz i had laptop with cordless mouse. now I just came back to home and i checked this thing, ye u have right. But i want to notice one thing its not 30%, during check cpu load u need to turn off explorer.exe cuz during moving mouse it uses cpu too (in peak was 40 % @_@ but its pure bs)

Heres results of my test:
mx 518 @ 500 Hz - ~5%
g5 @ 500 Hz - ~5%
g5 @ 1000 Hz - ~10%

i moved rly fast nostop on my pad (check screen, u will see whats progs o had in background - i was testing mx 518 @ 500 Hz)
