I guess the news has come to your ears. So i feel we should clarify some points.

We have been in close contact with Bandit for quite a while now and we are pleased to announce this partnership.

This will be an attempt to reproduce the excessiveplus feeling inside the quake 4 environment. Talks about e5r/plus/bro-like cfg's are way premature at this time. Have a little more patience.

No, we are going to make a different community, and even change the name of the mod ("excessiveplus") due to copyright reasons (unless the +team gives us the approval to use it and maybe why not, get directly involved as Bandit is still looking for coders etc).

hehe, cool nice to see that you finally are more open for q4 e+.
the last time I started a topic here it got deleted Thinking

well about configs: gtr is very moddable in that point, you can change even more than in e+.
but the configs are not serverside only this time, they have to be downloaded.
though at this early point of development we should focus on one! config and collect information on it to get the best results out of q4, since q4 is not using quake3 netcode it is not as easy getting it running nicely, especially with a mod like e+.

no, it wont, just check what q4 needs for performance, then check which pcs most people have here.

yea, forbid him to create a eplus-plus.cfg-similiar mod on a other game.

hehe

Ever watched arround, how popular q4 is? Even eplus is more played as all mods together in q4. (at least, nearly)

No, I don't know really q4. I'm just a bit scared that our community will start slowly dieing now...

there is no sense to start playing q4 if 95 percent of people reduce graphics to q3 for even more visibility.
