Eh, mainstream music in general does not appeal to me. Hence why you've never heard of most of what I listen to... you should check out the Polish composer Gorecki. He's amazing.
i will check out some classical music soon, but maybe im a bit too young for that
There is a stereotype that classical is for the elderly
I also listen to a bit of Therion, a mix of classical and metal i think
wrote:Have you read her bio? "Piece by Piece?" It was released in conjunction with "The Beekeeper..." I agree that Beekeper is not one of my favs. It is ok...she has become more subdued.Boys For Pele---great!. Under the Pink--great!- Some of her B-sides are wicked good, as well...
She moves me.
Well, i borrowed piece by piece from a friend... and it was just too much ethereal fluff for me. i wanted tori's story in plain english, you know? so it was hard for me to get into it. i got a little more insight into her miscarriages and what not, but i mean.... i dunno, it seemed like such fluff to me. i guess i should try some of the biographies on her since i never have.
have you ever listened to Azure Ray? I got Necro into those girls hard core
Never heard them. I will check them out...
Tori is ethereal. I agree that her bio was told as if she were in a really long interview. If you have seen her in an interview (which i am guessing you have..) She can be quite "out there..." I still enjoyed the bio, though. There are some unathorized bios about her out there. But, as we all know, this means that the artist did not consent, nor participate in the bio.
i love what she did with cannibal corpse
Wasn't it slayer?
Nope, it was Cannibal Corpse. She did cover a Slayer song on "Strange Little Girls" ('Raining Blood'), but she did some voiceovers for a remake of a Cannibal Corpse track called "Stripped, Raped and Strangled". Anti-rape message, of course... the song was fitting for it because of the perspective the lyrics are written from.
I find "Me And A Gun..." a far more touching and personal account of rape...(this is because it is acapella, and is written by her about her being raped)
Tori Rocks my world.
I knew of the Raining Blood, but no her cover of the Cannibal Corpse Tune.
Her version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" "Angie" and "Thank You" are all very good.
She's got tons of great covers... and some covers where I just shake my head and can't get it. At all. lol
I love her.
