This is actually not a Spam Thread. hehe for once! 
Anyone who knows me, knows that I play guitar and that I looooove music. So, I am wondering what you all are listening too. I am looking to add to my collection. I am ecclectic, so I will give many types of music a shot. I like just about anything.
In essence, I think this would be a good forum to post what we all like to listen to---If we can list artist and song titles and we can DL and come back and say what we think. Don't be too harsh now. :twisted:

I've played guitar since 1985, keyboarded instruments of all kind since 1993, drums since 1994, and various other instruments in the years since. If you ever want help of some kind I'm sure I could lend a hand despite 1,000+ miles between us.

I got bored of Iron Maiden. I prefer Metallica, Slipknot, SOAD, Paradise Lost, Korn etc.

Eww, Mallcore. 
You should consider getting into more "heavy" stuff. Start with Polish bands, like Behemoth, Vader, Besatt, Luna ad Noctum, Decapitated, Azarath etc etc.
About the tune thing... there is this one song i've been VERY impressed with for some time now, it's "An Elegy of Icaros" by Emperor, from "IX Equilibrium" album, i recommend it even if you don't like Black Metal in general.
Another great song is "Convoys to Nothingness" by Enslaved from "Monumension" album, fantastic stuff.

Turning non-BM fans onto Emperor with anything from IX Equilibrium is like turning non-death metal fans onto Cannibal Corpse by having them listen to Metallica's "black album".

Hey, i know that "IX..." is not a good album per se, but there is this one superb song on it, and it's this song only that i'm recommending. And i can only nod in agreement with you saying to check out earlier Emperor releases.
