I just would like to suggest, because of pure issues, make a new executable, with a new protocol, based on edawn or ioquake executable, because pure can't be bypassed on those. Eh. Who the fuck knows, man. At the time, there was a big wave of optimism for the project, so maybe it would have come out okay? At this point I suppose it doesn't matter. I mean, today, Quake is pretty much dead, anyway, doubt E-Dawn would have miraculously outlasted QL et all, just a shame it was never given the chance to thrive. It was a good project with dedicated and hard-working people behind it. Really pisses me off it was stomped on like that. Ah, fuck it.

^ I observed that tactic from the presumptive US Republican nominee. It has few enough characters to be twatter-ready, has a catchy alliterated nickname, and is broken into 3 parts to be clear and concise. Exclamation mark on the last part to highlight the poignancy of the situation. Anyways, as much I would like to rage back at random Swedes I barely remember, it's more important to address old friends and reminisce with tales of ExcessiveHistory! There weren't any threads, or at least not a central one but here's how I remember EVERYTHING related to fala:

Here's the set-up:
the animosity was between Mr Florin, flex and doctor ill because when they disbanded |< [] clan, they had an agreement to join different teams and without stacking "strong" clans too much.

• Trance went back to {DRT},
• Flex and triv joined c4 (it was OK for 2 ex-KO to join since c4 was a good team but not a "top4" one, so they made it actually competitive),
• Doctor Ill created and led a CZ/SK language team,
• Marfuz joined [Mr] (at the time Laktos and the 3 Russian guys were really good but they were just re-emerging from inactivity so they weren't on many people's radar. So Marcus didn't "join" a top team either, but he contributed to the team becoming the top team).
• MNC joined "BR" which then changed name to an unfortunate "Fighting Alliance Group" (tagged as " 'fag") and they eventually became unique.
• Driv was already inactive but he joined BR as well if I remember correctly.
• Riku joined soul
• But Sriam joined HYPER and was looked down by the core ex-KO cunts since 1) Hyper was a direct competitor to KO and also a high-skill contender 2) Before he had a forum signature with something akin to "]< [] best team evar <3333" which he than changed to "hypar best team evar <3333". This seemed lazy, clan-hopper like and offensive to the other ex-KO members' "brotherhood of steel" sense of togetherness.
• Cash and ASM from Russia most likely left e+ and if there's anyone else left, I don't remember, which just leaves HQ.

That sets the stage, so onto minor rivalries we go: HQ pretended to leave e+but changed his mind andrejoined MNC's already strong line-up at 'fag clan. They were the pre-tournament favourites for the upcoming FT cup: they played a LOT of PCWs during winter and performed strongly.

Upon joning, HQ took the incognito alias of "fala" and was avidly denying the link between fala and HQ, which didn't sit well with the ex-KO guys, I personally didn't give a fuck since that had nothing to do with me. One of the Polish dudes (most likely flex, madbringer or mako) on our IRC channel (mumble server?) pointed out that fala meant "wave" which is where the lazy but quite amusing phrase of "HQ died in river" comes from, that was probably mentioned by me in FWs or something.

Oska's Freeze Tag cup came up, we were drawn in the same group as fag, (along with hyper, DA and THX, literally the fucking group of death... this cup had 20 participants, the most in any e+ tourney ever, and every other group had 1-3 mong clans in it, while group B had none).

Most people assumed it's a no-brainer that hyper and fag would qualify from the group, THC and DA and aNk rounding out the others. (I entertained the notion as well but was enthusiastic nonetheless.. we never had any solid tactics and our preparation literally was "we pick a core 4 and do a shitload of practice wars and hope for the best").

The match between our two teams was in gameweek 3, fag lost their first 2 games somehow (to DA and hyper), we won 1 lost 1 (beat DA in 3 maps, the opening round had Torzelan get 7 frags on overkill and literally take out the entire squad by himself, and we lost 2 close maps to hyper, the second map in overtime). Both teams could still technically progress from group in second place since HYPER all but guaranteed topping the group: us directly, fag also needing DA to lose both of their next games. During the game, fala kept of dropping FPS on his computer or bad routing and Mr Florin kept calling him out and mocking him for it. We won 2:0 but both maps were fairly close. I was spectating for one of the maps (there was a limit to clan members since the server was full and i let either Zoot or Mad or Epy take my spot on map 2) and kept the shit talking to a minimal, as I was more interested in seeing team do well rather than disrupt the level of play.

Act 3, niggers! (this one will be shorter). Fag were knocked out and at first disbanded but then re-grouped quite quickly and became another top team under a much better clan name and tag (unique), fala quit and made another forum account and joined Mr (who were already heavily stacked with both Marcus and Laktos being MVP-type match-winners AND had just won the tournament), thus upsetting the balance even further, making a strong team even stronger since he was a good player to start with, and displeasing the old guard of KO (apart from Marcus I guess cos they were in the same team and also the ones who just left completely since they just stopped giving a fuck).

New nickname was "Dancing Shadow" and thus "HQ died in river" became the even lazier but still quite amusing phrase "HQ died in river and is now a dancing ghost" or some shit like that. I think any (if it all) major trolling came from that phrase in discussions (shit-slinging contests about Eplus/Dawn) and once me and madrbinger on IRC were pretending to be stereotypical Polish gentlemen of the "bad at speaking English football hooligan variety" for about an hour, but that's literally EVERYTHING around that time I remember to do with him. *

That "vile abuse which could have driven HQ to pull out all of Shady's teeth in a fit of rage" is literally nothing more than sado-masochistic wank dreams of a drunk "tolerant" Swede is all.

I kinda feel partly out of order because I was a (very small) contributing factor about Milena leaving. I went turbo-inactive for a few months in e+, while still maintaining an online presence in other, more classical quakes. Then one day when the noghost pickup cunts made a mix-team for some lazery tournament I came back with like "hi sup i leave sneaky and join mixteam for this tournament bye" which wasn't nice after not even communicating for like 8-9 months. Then fast forward 2-3 years, me aids zack and someone else from sneaky are shooting cunts in CS:GTFO, but they had some PCW. funwars are generally unimportant and tedious, pre-made CS usually is not, so they were running late to the game. She even got someone to join the lobby and remind them of the war but they were like "meh". She then left e+, removed most of us (apart from Bert) from steam friends list and was gone. I feel kinda bad for that, send Milena best wishes from me!

Mad I don't think you were THAT rude at any one point, I recall you writing a great journal over here about the dangers of consumerism and public transport etiquette that also mocked people for posting attention-seeking photos of themselves that was funny, light-hearted and amusing. I recall MIRC one night unleashing a barrage of unprovoked "F fuck, B and C-cunt" bombs on her, and even in this thread calling her a "proper bitch", but then again intellect-wise (grammar aside), he's much more on her level and thus would feel threatened and/or provoked.
