Oh yeah, that deserves a mention too: the Edawn guys couldn't just straight up copy+paste elements from CPM due to copyright issues. id software worked around that by just straight-up hiring arQon to make implementations, which is how QL got air control options and ramp jumps in the first place.

His sister works in the UK, and in the summer of 2014 he was coming down for a holiday to visit her literally 2 weeks after I moved from the south coast of England (she was like 3 cities over from where I lived, Bournemouth and Portsmouth, they even sound similar ) all the way to the North-East of Scotland. Would have been nice to have a beer with him. Haven't heard from him again since I don't check Facebook anymore.

I did! tried 3 times (November, Feb and March). But the only populated servers were the Russian TAG/CTF servers, and it got tedious after a few maps.It was nice and interesting to play against Ultima again, but that's about it. Also the CTF server had some blatant aimbotter with an Israeli flag joining and rejoining.

It was amusing, November he joins server, gets like 80% RG accuracy, gets callvote kicked, rejoins immediately. In February he's still doing the same. What the fuck, I wonder if he did it non-stop for all these months?

Sorry dude, the e+ server I had access to stopped having the right 1.03 e+ files in 2009 after the update, and the FTP finally went down around 2012 so I can't help you there.
