New ideas for e+
i edit my full post :
some nice featueres were nice :
* to give the events more sense ; sponsoring things from company or money prices.
*a excessiveplus fond : little donation for events.
- we need to give the sponsors more members that is what they want !
* own event forum with mod rights to include faster informations ( event / mods / devs ).
* in this website an successfully included event planer:
- a automatic email function by sign in in the event
- private message by deadlines
- a full creation feature ( forward installed ) League ; 1on1 , Ko Sytem etc.
some things what nice in Steam for examble:
* ingameteamspeak when u download the game
* you are ingame and can via friendslist invite people to play on server
* faster download function for maps ( i know then isnt is server side : you need to modifite the q3.exe )
Some older, vid, btw custom skins are coll, but its not ciil then u cant use them on pure servers, so some e+ skin pack can be to done to have more joy... nad advert game from this side too..

Bye,
The Quake 3 Freaks ^^
@softair, gud doing that list of tasks, spread it joining all ideas from this topik, and later will make maby some ultra vote for priority of those ideas, by adding names whos agre to that or that idea - so it will be clean
my 2 cents : we need a organisation team and devs that can catch much more sponsors to give the places in the ebents money or other things.. that the ppl want to join e+ because they can earn money or servers or other sponsoring things..
esier to say.. but i have no idea.. how can that be inplemented, sponsors.. only urselfs.. hmn tourneys, entry fee 1$, 1-3 places gets the bank mby mby... with some rules...

only suggestions!!!!
eventhough you guys are trying i guess this discussion leads nowhere, because the people posting here dont know if the stuff they suggest already exist or is even possible.

That was another problem I think I addressed. The communication and organization sucks. The website, at the very least, should be able to branch to everything else in some way, in an easy and intuitive manner. So yes, no one knows we have a youtube channel, but only one person maintains it (from what I know). Not everyone reads the forums, so no one knows what organizations we are registered with, or what organizations we are trying to get involved with to earn more attention. That is just something the site definitely lacks. And if it's not the sites fault, it's the people with the ability to maintain the front page. Not to point fingers but, that is the best way to convey info. Also, server messages (they are annoying, but sometimes i do look into them). There just needs to be a more global, and easier way to relay the information on what the community is doing, specially because there are too many posts and topics to look through to actually see what has been done. I know most projects people have started (joining different leagues, databases, etc) they started with good intentions but, they didn't see enough activity (usually due to not enough people knowing about it to begin with to even think about getting involved) so they quit before it even had a chance to take off. There is just a lack of communication in e+, and i blame that mostly on the website and the organization of it. (but, from my experience, and i have had a limited and sucky experience, communication within teams and clans is very non-existant, or at least very unclear as well).
It's a chain, the website, heads of the website, moderators, etc have to poster board ideas around on the website. Clan leaders and teams have to show some initiative and get their clan involved. Single players have to be willing to get involved. I do see a few individuals frequently throwing themselves before the community and doing everything they can to help, but of course i also see quite a bit more people who just like to post a thread going "How can we help the situation?" and never following through. Clans certainly had something going on, or at least used to, not sure about now. And the website doesn't really have anything going on, aside from having a very SMALL and UNSIGHTLY, very ignorable community news box. I mean, really, step forward, but surely there is a better way to do that. IE: show ONE, to a few topics from the SITE news, and the Community news and then give links below, an index, to previous topics. That way, people can actually READ the latest topic, opposed to just going, wtf is this?
This is all I see on on my 32 inch screen:

Seriously? What exactly is going to make me want to read this? How do I know where to click to find the link to read the post?I am not bashing the poster who takes the time to do this, but more the person who should be handling the presentation of the front page. Now i am not sure what options are available upon making a post, such as above but, there should surely be a way to add a brief summary , or an index of topic AT THE VERY LEAST such as:
1.) Rail Only Match-up: F2B Still holding the lead with 8 wins
2.) Plus Match-up: [MR] Clan holding the lead with 14 wins 1 loss
3.) 1v1 has no new activity
4.) Many clan opprutunities
5.) Clanless players
etc etc.
Of course, being able to read a little more of the post would be a LOT more beneficial. But just sitting there and seeing what i quoted above, just makes me go huh. I've actually never read one of those posts, until now (of course, not the poster's fault and not a complaint to the poster) It would be nice to be able to go to the front page and be able to see [MR] TAKES THE LEAD IN PLUS RANKING. F2B Still holds the lead in rail only. blah blah blah blah for a whole column so it makes me wanna get involved, or at least read something so i can be knowledgeable, even if it's just a glance of the first sentence as I am going to the forum to see who responded to my clanwar request, or something.
IMO, we can make the website become more alive (by modifying the layout, duh, but also) by making it look like the news is constantly being updated. But, as it stands, it looks like NOTHING is happening with the website, and the community is struggling. I mean look at the news, for one, all the topics are divided, Admin news on one side, "community news" on the other. Community news is so cramped up that there is nothing to read! It should at the very least by combined so they appear in bigger columns, and have more readability. Of course, keep the LATEST webadmin news at the top, such as the latest mod, allow the community to have a more visible say on the front page by letting their posts be read without having to find a stupid link and click it. Because right now, it looks exactly how it seems, the community and the admins are completely divided and it looks like a ghost town with all that wasted space. So at least combining the posts (and of course having them labeled community news, or adminnews, etc so you can differentiate) makes the community look more homey.
other idea : keep the following thread alive so we are finally heard and a dedicated active website's dev is nominated : http://www.excessiveplus.net/forums/thread/are-you-waiting-impatiently-for-e-website-evolution
ok, my own proposal for this would be to greatly incrase the ammount of moderators and lock this topic to split all the ideas in it.
ofc a greater amount of moderators has to be well organised and the admins are to inactive and to busy to do so.
because actually stuff between the game/forum and the community goes over moderators and not over public discussing and waiting for an admin to approve it because moderators have no rights.
ps: I will not do anything!
This invention with 'new ideas' looks like an attempt to keep played those few game variations that the participants play mostly.
Concerning the suggestion points I can only say that they are all great, nothing to add except may be.... 'utilize existing features'
That's
why I asked your suggestion, that's why i'm trying to involve more
person i can, that's why I sended more then 50 private message, that's
why i'm asking which things are possible from the list and which are
not.
1 )advertise around the internet(moddb, wiki pages, quake sites, etc).
2 )a standalone game with new maps and models.
3 )make on E+ gametype and maps from Q3 TEAM ARENA.
4 )Add e+ to Clanbase or ESL..
5 )more developers such as coders (for improving mod).
6 )webdevs (to finish this site).
