I see no problem in employing a simple if-else for adding 2-3 mj's only on dm17... anyway, i think we should save this discussion for the actual suggestions thread concerning plus cfg. Mow supplied an idea of creating a sub-forum specifically for cfg discussions, i think it's good enough.
I wanna add in my 3 cents before the topic closes: Rail damage should be a bit over 300, bfg direct(/air) shots should always kill, e+ would really change if the multijumps were to be disabled, but I think that would contribute to the mod as well. Splash on bfg could be a bit smaller and a bit bigger on rl.
/edit - oh and please no more bloody spawnprotection, it is very annoying if you fly across the whole map or shoot someone first and they end up fragging you
multijumps gives the game more flow, some bfg moves are just possible with multijumps, bfg jumping on dm17 is insane without multijumps.
In this case u speak about ur personal favour. With combos, bfg/nades, or bfg/rocket, u can do things, which u never did, because the multijumps made the job for you. At least, if a change come, it will not come from today to tomorrow. Like i said, first on a test server, which i try to make it good visited to get a valid common opinion.
multijumps are important for making a big difference between e5r and bro.cfg
again a personal impression. The maindifference, as example for me, is the physics, in bro and nh 1 and on plus 2. Als the weaponusage, while u play in e5 bfg/mg/lg/nade, u play in plus rg/rl/nade/bfg
it is said, that i see nearly nobody using physics 2, for example making a U-Turn out of 700 ups, dominating the map with strafing. If someone comes with 700 ups arround the corner, the enemy is in the first second really suprised (at least many of them)
btw @ railkill with 300 damage:
i suxx if some1 just takes an armor shard and overlive a insane rail and jus shoot u.
if he would miss u just can use the sg to kill him imo not the best way.
Sure, u will need to change ur routine than a bit. With old rail u was sure, if u hear the sound, enemy is fragged. Now, u have to keep an eye on him, because u dunno if he have a armor, so, u need at least a combo of rg/mg, mg as finishing. I think the common oppinion about it, could be just positive, and game would be more interesting. Also a way to have an argument against zone camping. 3 enemies camping at red armor on dm7, so, u have the possibility with armor to have a chance against 3, but just if u have an good aim and a good game-sight.
but we could change the splash of bfg and rocketlauncher a bit.
Here u post against ur principles u posted above. If someone change the splashdamage of a weapon, he will change also the the physics of movement of that weapon. BFG has no extra knockback, the movement is made with splasdamage only. If u make bfg movement with knockback only, than u will move just in one direction, and u cant variate anymore ur bfg moves from one corner. (going to left or to right, u will just have the way, going up or down).
imo its just lol if u dont have much life left and moving through rocketspamm and one kills u by nooby bigrange splash
The positiv at that is, that u cant move blind through maps, at least, u need to use ur ears before u go arround a corner. and mod is still called "excessive"
and btw were not in osp clanarena (u need 3 rails for one kill) we should stick to one rail kill, doesnt matter what armor (and btw u can overlive a rail take a regeneration and 400 armor and u got over 1000 life so u can overlife one rail.)
Thats just to personall impression. This thread is not able to collect a common oppinion, just a busy testserver can do that.
the weapons are well balanced on plus and nh cfg ( dont like originally bro ) but what isnt balanced are the powerups.
U speak again against urself, for what u need powerups, if u want to keep instarail? which would be still instarail with the exception someone has a "powerup".
imo turning them on is against the excessiveplus rule that all weapons and all enemys can kill the enemy easily, the quad gives an unfair advantage on some weapons, invisible is just lame, haste let u fire much faster and shield makes u nearly immortal against bfg ( against rail too if u drop damage).
a quad appears (hope i am not wrong), all 2 minutes, whats unfair than, if it get used in a war 2-3 times in a war of 4vs4 or 5vs5. Basically, i always shoot at quadpeople first, before i look other enemys.

I'll say this here, and i believe i'll say it again:
-The main characteristic of excessive plus as it is, is bfg sliding, nothing more.
-The main characteristic of bro cfgs as they are, is instarail. (most categorize no-mj cfgs as "bro")
-If it is decided that a cfg, for instance, with no mj, 230/300 rg damage, active armors and bfg slides isn't "bro" then i guess it isn't. There are sooo many servers, some can hold a cfg like that for gamers to go play there. And maybe, who knows, maybe after some time it'll replace the current cfgs.
-What i think is a fact, is that servers with that cfg could attract players from other mods.
but none of this really solves the problem posed....also cryptor went a little extreme by calling people ignorant...wrong word...but u guys are most definitely resistant to change...like most established people are....if u look at this thread objectively u will understand that easily enough.....

u guys saying that camping is a part of a game im can iterpretate it as u are defensive about this mater, same as u say about us wonko...
if we will implement much harder camp protection in plus.cfg on forums will pomped up new topic how wrong it is couse they cant unfreeze teamates or stm, but id like to make harder damage for campers...
camping cause spawncamping simple as that, sure we can dill only with spawncamping, but that will cause that basic problem of camping will grove and ppl will find new solutions and another ones will be complayning on it, as far im can remember that was always hapening here...
i like mowly idea, ist implementing a bit e5 armor usage, and can be seen as implementing basic osp or baseq3 idea, wich i was realy liked to do run throught map for armor ore power up

there is hard limit and soft limit, so?
let make ppl spawn with 350 health but hard limit of hp will be 300, it will cause that yors hp will start droping to 300 from 350 after u spawn, dunno if we can incresse speed of health reduction, havent chnces to test it for now...
please note that this will cause changes in raill damage, bfg damage, rocket damage and will only get rive instsnt death after spawn but not spawncamping, if ppl will be able to stand and w8 for spwning ppl they will do that!... everybody of them can shot to u with raill and thier teamate with second shot will finish u of or the same enemy will change weapon and finish u of
this solution will destroy bfg as a weapon for killing or move, but if we think we dont must do reduce power of bfg then team will start spawncamping not with raill but whith bfg...and the whole changes were made for nothing couse we end where we started just the weapon for it was changed...
(if bfg stay withnout changes i am sure then more e5 players will start playing plus.cfg '] )
if we like to reduce spawncamping to minimum then we must add to these changes much harder camping penelty...
i am wonder then if that will satsfied u guys if it will destroy almoust all to what u get used now

Yes, I agree with you totaly. Only constructive propousals which are in connection with topic. As I noticed all people dislike spawncamping and spawnkilling, respawn killing. Because that is easy points and pure luck mostly. So, some people just take it at is and play at is. We all in common have same perspective about possible improvement if it is possible. So we have to make suggestion constructive about that and try it on some test server.... If we have luck, then can move on it, if not rollback where we now. Simple.

I am verry satisfied with E+ mod as it now. And I am verry afirmative to preserve CORE maen HART of E+. Slightly changes should be maked but slowly and try it alot before making general change... WHO DONT LIKE CORE OF E+ should procede in mods which satisfy ther needs, dont try to change our mod to something other because you dont like at all alot in E+. HQ, two of us verry often think similar about same matter.

in E+ mod is in name EXCESSIVE, but more then that EXCESSIVEPLUS. So, we are EXSCESSIVE. Fast moving, healt 300 and pump up without collecting. So, we have excessive healt. Have excessive railgin with strenght 900. We have multijumps and dont hurt self with own weapon. That is preatty EXCESSIVE. That it is what I on first sight will tell you when you possible wake me up in middle of night.... :roll: People which know in details can make list for you, like e+ team, Mulle, Nihil, MowQ, HQ, Flex1....
Yes, if you change some core stuff, then we have to change name from E+ in some other name.... but that cant happened :!:
